In last year’s season Hitech made quite an impression with becoming not only vice-champion in the F2 Constructors’ Championship with 278 points to their name, but also was arguably the most consistent team in Qualifying overall.

In the 2026 F2 season, Ritomo Miyata and Colton Herta will be racing for Hitech, both eager to outperform the other teams.

Consistent in qualifying but not enough wins – Hitech during F2 2025 campaign

In the 2025 season Luke Browning and Dino Beganovic have had both performed a successful season, finishing 4th and 7th in the Drivers’ Championship respectively. They had both shown great results on track, with Browning securing seven and Beganovic four podiums, ending the season as the most consistent qualifier. Even though, the team had four wins less than Campos Racing, their consistency in qualifying let to them to being 20 points ahead of the Spanish constructor.

While Beganovic switched to DAMS Lucas Oil Racing for the F2 2026 campaign, Browning graduated to Formula 1 as Williams reserve driver.

This season, Hitech will welcome two new faces in their team: Ritomo Miyata, who starts his third F2 season, and IndyCar driver Colton Herta.

Hitech’s newcomers

Both Miyata and Herta are nothing new to the motorsport world; Miyata is starting his third season in Formula 2, after having a less-successful season with ART Grand Prix, where he finished 17th with 30 points to his name. Herta is an established IndyCar driver, accomplishing seven seasons in the American single-seater series, where he achieved nine race wins and 19 podiums.
He had finished the 2025 IndyCar season as 7th in the Drivers’ standings with 372 points to his name. Formula 2 is objectively a less-lucrative than the IndyCar Series. However, the American is strategically following his plan to the pinnacle of motorsports – Formula 1.

Herta got his first taste of Formula 2 during post-season testing with Hitech in Abu Dhabi.

The Japanese driver and the American driver both bring extensive experience in the single-seater category, however Herta’s experience may surpass Miyata’s.

Hitech ahead 2026 F2 Championship

As last year Hitech only managed to win twice, despite consistent qualifying, the team’s priority is to outpace the other teams during the races in 2026.

With the 2026 season approaching, the new drivers are determined to win the championship. The 2025 F2 post-season testing gave the pairing a small preview on what to come in the 2026 season with Hitech. The first official F2 pre-season testing will take place at Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona from February 17th-19th.
