After an intense Feature Race at the British GP, DAMS Lucas Oil driver, Jak Crawford is now in F2 Championship contention, just 6 points behind Richard Verschoor in the 2025 Standings.
Jak Crawford delivered a masterful performance in tricky conditions to claim victory in Sunday’s rain-soaked Feature Race at Silverstone. The DAMS Lucas Oil driver made a brilliant start from third on the grid, seizing the lead at Turn 1 and maintaining his advantage despite intense pressure from Alexander Dunne throughout the race. Overall, Dunne secured second place for Rodin Motorsport, whilst Luke Browning produced a stellar drive from 12th on the grid to complete the podium for Hitech.
The race began dramatically as pole-sitter Victor Martins made a poor getaway, allowing Crawford to jump into the lead with Dunne following through into second. Additionally, the early stages saw spectacular wheel-to-wheel action, particularly between the Hitech pairing of Browning and Dino Beganovic, who carved their way through the field in tandem. Browning’s charge was particularly impressive as he methodically picked off rivals, using clever positioning to climb from 12th to fourth by the midpoint of the race.
As the weather conditions shifted throughout the 29-lap race, teams faced strategic dilemmas over tyre choices between wet and slick compounds. The race featured multiple safety car periods, including a Virtual Safety Car that turned into a full Safety Car, with several drivers spinning off in the challenging conditions. Finally, Crawford managed the restarts expertly to maintain his position ahead of Dunne, whilst Browning capitalised on the chaos to secure his podium finish.
