After the F2 Feature Race at the Spanish GP, Alexander Dunne remains in Championship lead, after taking home P2 in the Sprint Race, and finishing in the points in the Feature Race.
Arvid Lindblad claimed his maiden F2 Feature Race victory at the Spanish GP. He converted pole position into a commanding lights-to-flag triumph for Campos Racing.
The Red Bull junior controlled the 37-lap encounter from the outset. He established an early two-second advantage over Sebastian Montoya that he maintained throughout the strategic phases of the race. Most frontrunners opted for soft tyres at the start. The alternative hard tyre strategy attempted by Alex Dunne and Jak Crawford proved ineffective on the Barcelona circuit. Lindblad’s conventional approach proved superior as he managed his pit window perfectly on lap twelve.
The race’s outcome was effectively sealed by a late Safety Car. Leonardo Fornaroli retired with two laps remaining, freezing the running order and denying any final battles for position. Montoya secured second place for PREMA despite his Sprint Race penalty hangover. Richard Verschoor completed the podium to cap off an exceptional weekend following his Saturday Sprint victory. The result has dramatically tightened the championship fight. Lindblad jumped from sixth to third in the standings. He now trails leader Dunne and second-placed Verschoor by a significantly reduced margin. Crawford’s recovery drive to fourth highlighted his fighting spirit. Luke Browning’s championship hopes suffered a major blow when front wing damage from a mid-race collision dropped him to the back of the field.
