The final chapter of the 2025 FIA Formula 3 post-season testing campaign is set to unfold at the historic Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola. Following four days of productive running in Jerez and Barcelona, all eyes now turn to Italy, where teams and drivers aim to complete their preparations ahead of the 2026 season.

Final test format and timings

The two-day test in Imola begins on Tuesday, with action scheduled to start at 09:00 local time. The morning session will run until 12:00, followed by an afternoon stint from 14:00 to 17:00. This format ensures that teams have ample time to gather vital data and experiment with set-ups.

On Wednesday, the final day of testing and the 2025 campaign, the morning session maintains the same 09:00 to 12:00 structure. However, the afternoon segment will begin slightly earlier at 13:30 and conclude an hour ahead of schedule at 16:00.

Importantly, fans can follow all the action live through timing screens on the official FIA Formula 3 website, while additional insights, interviews, and updates will be shared across the series’ social media platforms.

Who to watch: The standout names

Returning to the grid in Imola are all 30 drivers who participated in the tests at Jerez and on Day 1 in Barcelona. Among them, Campos Racing’s Ugo Ugochukwu has established himself as a key figure to watch. The American driver topped the timesheets in both Spain-based tests, sending a clear signal of intent ahead of the 2026 season.

Meanwhile, Prema Racing arrives in Italy with a strong line-up consisting of Australian James Wharton, New Zealander Louis Sharp, and French driver Enzo Deligny. Historically a powerhouse in junior formulae, Prema Racing will be eager to continue gathering crucial data on their trio of young talents.

Trident, another top-tier outfit, will be represented by Danish prospect Noah Stromsted, British rising star Freddie Slater, and local hope Matteo De Palo. Together, they will aim to extract maximum performance and consistency over the two days.

It is also worth noting that Michael Shin returns to the Hitech TGR garage after Joseph Loake stepped in for Day 2 in Barcelona. His reunion with the team will be closely followed as Hitech TGR evaluates potential race seats for next year.

Historic venue, high stakes

Imola remains one of the most technically challenging and revered circuits on the calendar. The last time Formula 3 tested at this venue during the post-season in 2023, it was Prema Racing’s Gabriele Minì who clocked the fastest lap with a time of 1:30.225. That benchmark remains a target for the current crop of drivers, many of whom are eager to make a statement before the winter break.

Additionally, with every team now fine-tuning their 2026 line-ups, these final two days could have far-reaching implications. Strong performances might cement future seats, while underwhelming showings could open the door for rival contenders.
