James Egozi secured the 2026 Eurocup-3 Drivers’ Championship with two rounds remaining after another commanding weekend during Round 6 at Jerez.

The Palou Motorsport driver arrived in Spain with a 107-point advantage following his Race 2 victory at Silverstone and added another 48 points across the Jerez weekend. Egozi took Qualifying 1 pole, claimed his eighth victory of the season in Race 1, scored again in the reverse-grid Sprint and finished second to René Lammers in Race 2.

Lammers also transformed his championship position after showing strong pace from the beginning of Eurocup-3’s Jerez Collective Testing. His maiden pole and victory on Sunday lifted him from fourth to second in the standings, while Keanu Al Azhari moved to third and Ean Eyckmans slipped from second to fourth.

Egozi seals championship with two rounds remaining

Egozi arrived at Jerez already in a position to secure the championship after increasing his advantage from 93 to 107 points at Silverstone. The American immediately strengthened that position by taking pole for Race 1 before converting it into another victory.

Three Safety Car periods disrupted Saturday’s opener, but Egozi remained ahead of Thomas Strauven and Enzo Tarnvanichkul to secure his eighth win of the campaign. He then added another point with 10th in the Sprint Race, where Al Azhari took victory from Maksimilian Popov and Rafaël Pérard.

Sunday placed Egozi alongside Lammers on the front row after the MP Motorsport rookie edged him by only 0.017s for Qualifying 2 pole. Lammers converted that advantage into his maiden Eurocup-3 victory, but Egozi’s second place proved sufficient to mathematically secure the title.

The official Eurocup-3 championship report confirmed Egozi as champion with 283 points, 122 clear of his nearest rival. With only four races remaining, his advantage can no longer be overturned.

Egozi becomes the fourth Eurocup-3 champion after Esteban Masson, Christian Ho and Mattia Colnaghi. His Jerez weekend increased his total from 235 to 283 points and delivered his 12th podium of the campaign.

Lammers climbs from fourth to second with maiden victory

Lammers made the largest championship gain among the drivers immediately behind Egozi.

The Dutch rookie entered Jerez fourth on 119 points, nine behind teammate Eyckmans and two behind Al Azhari. His weekend began with fifth in Race 1 before he added sixth in the reverse-grid Sprint.

However, Sunday produced the breakthrough result his pace had threatened throughout the season. Lammers took his maiden pole by 0.017s over Egozi and then led Race 2 from the start, controlling the contest after an early Safety Car to secure his first Eurocup-3 victory.

His 42-point Jerez haul increased his championship total from 119 to 161. Lammers therefore gains two positions and leaves Spain second overall, 16 points ahead of Al Azhari and 22 clear of Eyckmans. The official 2026 standings now place the MP Motorsport driver as Egozi’s nearest challenger despite the title already being settled.

The result also continues a strong run for Lammers after he finished second and fourth at Silverstone. His maiden win has now established him as the driver to beat in the fight for championship runner-up.

Al Azhari moves to third after Sprint victory

Al Azhari also left Jerez with a victory, although Lammers’ larger points haul moved the Hitech driver from third to second briefly during the weekend before he ultimately remained third in the post-round standings.

The Emirati driver began Race 1 from 11th and recovered to 10th. However, the reverse-grid Sprint offered a much stronger opportunity. Starting second alongside Popov, Al Azhari swept around the outside at Turn 1 to claim the lead and retained it through a red flag and subsequent Safety Car periods.

His victory became his third of the season after previous successes at Paul Ricard and Silverstone, where he had climbed to third in the championship. Al Azhari then qualified fifth on Sunday and finished fourth in Race 2 behind Lammers, Egozi and Heitor Dall’Agnol.

He added 24 points across the weekend to increase his total from 121 to 145. That keeps him third in the standings, 16 behind Lammers but six ahead of Eyckmans.

With the Drivers’ title already settled, the contest between Lammers, Al Azhari and Eyckmans now becomes one of the principal battles across the remaining two rounds. Only 22 points cover the trio from second through fourth.

Eyckmans drops from second to fourth

Eyckmans endured the most difficult Jerez weekend among the three drivers fighting directly behind Egozi.

The Belgian arrived second on 128 points after two consistent results at Silverstone, but he struggled to match teammate Lammers during the competitive sessions at Jerez. Eyckmans qualified 10th for Race 1 and finished 13th, leaving him without a significant return from the opening contest.

Fourth in the Sprint provided his strongest result of the weekend and kept him involved in the battle behind Egozi. However, ninth in Qualifying 2 left him with more work to do in the finale, where he recovered one position to finish eighth.

Eyckmans added only 11 points across the round, increasing his total to 139. With Lammers scoring 42 and Al Azhari adding 24, the Belgian falls from second to fourth.

He remains firmly involved in the runner-up battle, however. Six points separate him from Al Azhari, while Lammers sits 22 ahead with two rounds remaining.

Dall’Agnol strengthens fifth with another podium

Dall’Agnol consolidated fifth place after one of his strongest weekends of the season.

The Palou Motorsport rookie finished sixth in Race 1 before taking fifth in the Sprint. He then qualified third for Sunday’s finale and maintained that position throughout Race 2, joining Lammers and newly crowned champion Egozi on the podium.

His 29-point weekend increases his total from 91 to 120. Dall’Agnol therefore remains fifth but has significantly strengthened his advantage over the drivers behind him.

Alex Powell is now sixth on 82 points, leaving Dall’Agnol 38 clear. Although that represents a considerable gap, the Brazilian remains 19 points behind Eyckmans and therefore still has an opportunity to gain further positions over the final two rounds.

Powell climbs to sixth as Pérard and El Feghali progress

Powell emerged from Jerez with a much stronger return than at Silverstone, where he had failed to score.

The Griffin Core by Campos rookie finished fourth in Race 1, ninth in the Sprint and seventh in Race 2. His 20-point weekend increases his total from 62 to 82 and moves him from seventh to sixth in the Drivers’ Championship.

Pérard also gains a position after taking his third podium of the season in the Sprint. The Palou Motorsport rookie added 14 points across the weekend to move from 58 to 72, promoting him from eighth to seventh.

Kacper Sztuka consequently drops from sixth to eighth after leaving Jerez without adding to his 68 points. Christopher El Feghali moves into ninth after scoring 14 points, while Gianmarco Pradel remains inside the top 10 on 53.

Strauven made one of the larger gains further down the order. His maiden Eurocup-3 podium in Race 1 helped increase his total from 33 to 51, promoting him to 11th and leaving him level on points with absent Griffin Core driver Patrick Heuzenroeder.

Tarnvanichkul also enjoyed a productive weekend. His Race 1 podium contributed to a 19-point gain, lifting him from 26 to 45 points and placing him 13th overall.

Egozi has increased his championship advantage from 107 to 122 points and settled the title before the final two rounds. However, the contest immediately behind him has become even closer, with 41 points covering Lammers in second through Dall’Agnol in fifth.

Further back, Powell has created a 10-point advantage over Pérard in sixth, while only 17 points cover Sztuka in eighth through Strauven and Heuzenroeder on 51.

Palou Motorsport increases Teams’ Championship lead

Palou Motorsport also strengthened its hold on the Teams’ Championship during the Jerez weekend.

Egozi’s Race 1 victory and Race 2 runner-up finish provided a substantial contribution, while Dall’Agnol scored consistently before taking third in the finale. Pérard’s Sprint podium added another strong result as Palou increased its total from 350 to 432 points.

MP Motorsport remains second after Lammers’ breakthrough weekend. His Race 2 victory combined with Eyckmans’ Sprint result and further points across the three races to increase the team’s total from 267 to 322.

That means Palou’s advantage has grown from 83 to 110 points. With two rounds remaining, the Teams’ Championship remains mathematically open even though Egozi has already settled the Drivers’ title.

Griffin Core also made major progress and moved back ahead of Hitech. Popov finished second in the Sprint on his debut, while Strauven, Tarnvanichkul and Powell all produced strong results during the weekend. The team added 52 points to move from 152 to 204.

Hitech increases its total from 155 to 181 despite Al Azhari’s Sprint victory. Griffin Core therefore overturns its three-point deficit after Silverstone and leaves Jerez 23 points clear in third. The official Teams’ Championship standings consequently show a renewed fight behind Palou Motorsport and MP Motorsport.

2026 Eurocup-3 Teams’ Championship standings after Round 6 at Jerez

  1. Palou Motorsport — 432 points
  2. MP Motorsport — 322 points
  3. Griffin Core — 204 points
  4. Hitech GP — 181 points
  5. Tecnicar — 78 points
  6. Drivex — 53 points
  7. Double R — 16 points
  8. GRS Team — 4 points
  9. TC Racing — 1 point

Palou Motorsport has extended its advantage over MP Motorsport to 110 points, while Griffin Core’s strong Jerez weekend moves it 23 clear of Hitech in the battle for third.

Tecnicar remains fifth after Maciá scored 10 points on his Eurocup-3 debut, while El Feghali’s Jerez results helped Drivex increase its total from 39 to 53.

Egozi heads to Hungaroring as 2026 Eurocup-3 champion

The central championship question has already been answered before the final two rounds. Egozi leaves Jerez with eight victories, 12 podiums and an insurmountable 122-point advantage, securing the title earlier in the season than any of his rivals could prevent.

Attention now turns to the fight behind him. Lammers has transformed his position through a run of increasingly competitive performances since Silverstone and heads to Hungary second, but Al Azhari and Eyckmans remain within 22 points.

Dall’Agnol remains within striking distance in fifth, while the Teams’ Championship continues with Palou Motorsport holding a 110-point advantage. Eurocup-3 heads to the Hungaroring on 23–25 October for Round 7, where the fight for the remaining championship positions will continue despite Egozi already owning the biggest prize
