Kimi Antonelli started on pole position from Max Verstappen. The Ferraris occupied the second row. Isack Hadjar and George Russell found themselves on row three.

Unfortunately for the four-time World Champion, his day was done instantly. A lack of power off the line saw him drop to the back and cruise home into the pits. Valtteri Bottas (brakes) and Bearman all retired before the halfway point. Lando Norris also dropped out as he had no battery according to the man himself.

Hamilton, Russell, Piastri, Gasly and Colapinto all got penalties for speeding in the pits, as the entry proved to be a big issue.

Lance Stroll was also handed a penalty for track limits. On lap 60 for the race leaders, the Canadian found the wall at the final corner.

On the restart, Charles Leclerc crashed in the last corner also, blaming his issues with the brakes for it. A red flag came out as the track surface was breaking up where he crashed.

Car #63 was handed a drive-through penalty for failing to serve his 5-second one when he pitted under the Safety Car.

On the standing restart, Kimi Antonelli fended off Lewis Hamilton as George Russell and Pierre Gasly jumped Isack Hadjar.
