Round 19 of the 2026 F1 season was completed at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez for the Mexico City GP. View the full race results here.

Lewis Hamilton started from pole position after securing his first pole for Ferrari and the 105th of his F1 career. The seven-time World Champion edged out George Russell by just 0.009s, with teammate Charles Leclerc completing the top three.

Championship leader Kimi Antonelli lined up fourth, ahead of Max Verstappen, who received a one-place grid penalty following his collision with Liam Lawson during FP2. Lando Norris started sixth for McLaren, followed by Red Bull’s Isack Hadjar.

Arvid Lindblad moved up to eighth, with Pierre Gasly and Nico Hülkenberg completing the top 10 after Lawson’s disqualification from qualifying.

Oscar Piastri endured a difficult qualifying session, failing to progress beyond Q2 and starting 13th. The Australian lined up behind Franco Colapinto, while Gabriel Bortoleto, Ollie Bearman and Carlos Sainz also failed to reach Q3.

Further back, Alex Albon started 17th after another disappointing qualifying session for Williams. Fernando Alonso lined up 18th following a technical issue that brought out the red flag in Q1, ahead of Haas debutant Ryō Hirakawa, who replaced Esteban Ocon ahead of FP3.

Lance Stroll started 20th, with home favourite Sergio Pérez in 21st after a difficult weekend for Cadillac. Teammate Valtteri Bottas received a 50-place grid penalty for additional power unit elements.

Liam Lawson started from the back of the grid after being disqualified from qualifying for breaching the minimum MGU-K power requirements. The Racing Bulls driver had originally qualified eighth but was already facing a one-place grid penalty for his FP2 incident with Verstappen.

With claiming P3 at the Mexico City GP, Kimi Antonelli crowned himself the 2026 F1 World Champion.
