With Cadillac joining the F1 grid in 2026, 22 cars will take to the grid in Melbourne in March, but who are the race engineers that will be the voices on the radio? Here is a list of them.

McLaren

Will Joseph | Lando Norris

Making his debut at the 2019 F1 Australian GP, Lando Norris has had Will Joseph as his race engineer from that day right through to his greatest moment in Abu Dhabi last month. Alongside the Drivers’ Championship this year, the pair have won two consecutive Constructors’ Championships with McLaren as well.

Tom Stallard | Oscar Piastri

Ever since the Australian made his F1 debut with McLaren at the 2023 Bahrain GP, he has had Tom Stallard as his race engineer. They have helped the team win the last two Constructors’ Championships, with Oscar Piastri going close in the Drivers’ Championship in 2025.

Mercedes

Marcus Dudley | George Russell

After Riccardo Musconi moved to a different role at Mercedes following George Russell’s first season at the team, Marcus Dudley has been in his ear over the last three seasons. There’s been four wins for the British driver over the last two seasons.

Peter Bonnington | Kimi Antonelli

Lewis Hamilton’s move to Ferrari saw an end to an iconic partnership of 12 years with Peter ‘Bono’ Bonnington. They won six Drivers’ Championships and eight Constructors’ Championships together.

From a driver with incredible experience and record breaking numbers, Bonnington worked with rookie Kimi Antonelli in 2025. The Italian bagged three podiums.

Red Bull Racing

TBA | Max Verstappen

Richard Wood | Isack Hadjar

Following brief spells as race engineer for Sergio Pérez (2024) and Liam Lawson (early 2025), Richard Wood worked with Yuki Tsunoda for 22 rounds last year.

With Isack Hadjar getting promoted for 2026, it will be the fourth driver he’s worked with it in less than two years. The pair already had some time together in the post-season test at Abu Dhabi.

Scuderia Ferrari

Bryan Bozzi | Charles Leclerc

The departure of Xavier Marcos Padros after the 2024 Miami GP meant Charles Leclerc’s performance engineer Bryan Bozzi stepped up. The duo have won three races together so far.

Riccardo Adami | Lewis Hamilton

Although Fred Vasseur suggested at Christmas lunch to media at Maranello that Ferrari are evaluating who Lewis Hamilton’s race engineer might be in 2026, AutoRacer reported this pairing will remain unchanged.

Williams

Gaetan Jago | Carlos Sainz

A big move for 2025 was Carlos Sainz joining Williams. Ferrari decided not to renew his contract. He built up a very good working relationship with Gaetan Jago. It was a memorable first season together as the Spanish driver bagged two superb Grand Prix podiums.

James Urwin | Alex Albon

One of the longest partnerships on the grid. Since Alex Albon made his F1 comeback and debut with Williams at the 2022 Bahrain GP, James Urwin has been in his corner.

Racing Bulls

Ernesto Desidero | Liam Lawson

Promoted into a race engineer role ahead of the 2024 Italian GP working with Yuki Tsunoda, Ernesto Desidero would go on to be Liam Lawson’s race engineer for 22 rounds in 2025 after the Japanese and Kiwi drivers swapped teams post-China.

Pierre Hamelin | Arvid Lindblad

Rookie Arvid Lindblad is set to have the experienced Pierre Hamelin as his race engineer in 2026. The French engineer has seen plenty of changes on his side of the garage in recent times as he’s worked with de Vries, Ricciardo, Lawson and Hadjar since the beginning of 2023. The highlight was the podium with the French rookie at Zandvoort last year.

Aston Martin

Andrew Vizard | Fernando Alonso

Vizard started working with Fernando Alonso in 2025 after moving over from Lance Stroll’s side of the garage. The engineer was with the Canadian driver from China through to the end of 2024. Chris Cronin, the Spaniard’s former engineer, was promoted to the chief engineer position.

Although Alonso was his fiery self on the radio at times, the pair worked well together. In Abu Dhabi, a P6 for the two-time F1 World Champion saw him end P10 in the Drivers’ Championship.

Gary Gannon | Lance Stroll

Leaving Haas following 8 years at the team, Gary Gannon moved to Aston Martin and was appointed as Lance Stroll’s race engineer. The Canadian scored 33 points last year.

Haas

Ronan O’Hare | Ollie Bearman

Sweeping changes at Haas meant Ronan O’Hare was promoted to a race engineer role in 2025. Working with Ollie Bearman, the British driver equalled the best ever result for a Haas driver in F1 with P4 at the Mexico City GP.

Laura Müller | Esteban Ocon

Laura Müller made history in 2025 as she became the first women to be a race engineer in F1. The highlight was Esteban Ocon’s brilliant drive to P5 at the Chinese GP, helped by a double DSQ for the Ferrari cars.

Audi

Steven Petrik | Nico Hülkenberg

After working with Valtteri Bottas for most of 2024, Steven Petrik teamed up with Nico Hülkenberg for 2025. It was a historic season as the German finally bagged his maiden F1 podium at the British GP in memorable circumstances.

Jose Manuel López | Gabriel Bortoleto

Moving over from McLaren, Jose Manuel López started his first full F1 season in a race engineer role at Sauber in 2025. He worked with rookie Gabriel Bortoleto. While the points total might not have showed it, it was a hugely encouraging season for this partnership.

Alpine

Josh Peckett | Pierre Gasly

Having worked with Esteban Ocon and then very briefly with Jack Doohan, Peckett moved across to the other side of the Alpine garage to be race engineer for Pierre Gasly.

Stuart Barlow | Franco Colapinto

Having worked for just four races with Jack Doohan before he was brutally fired, Barlow spent the rest of the season as race engineer to Franco Colapinto. He had previously been a performance engineer at Alpine before getting promoted in early 2025.

Cadillac

John Howard | Valtteri Bottas

Previously a race engineer for Pierre Gasly at Alpine, he left the team to join Cadillac. Planet F1 first reported he would be working with the Finn in 2026.

Carlo Pasetti | Sergio Pérez

On his return to F1, Sergio Pérez will work with a familiar face. Carlo Pasetti was his performance engineer during his days at Racing Point. Pasetti was most recently at Sauber.
