Qualifying for round 14 of the 2026 F1 season has been completed at the Spanish GP at the new Madring circuit, view the full results here.
FP3 was a rather dramatic one. First up, Alex Albon clipped the wall at turn 20 on his first push lap, breaking his left rear toe link and missed all the vital running required in the session.
Later on, Lewis Hamilton carried too much speed into the final corner and found the barriers. With a broken front wing underneath his car, he was asked to stop the car multiple times before eventually doing so, although it took race control to intervene for him to listen to Carlo Santi.
Once the barrier was put back into place following a lengthy delay, Ollie Bearman crashed at the high-speed turn 11. His Haas car was significantly damaged. The team confirmed he would not take part in qualifying because of it.
In terms of the times, championship leader Kimi Antonelli led the way by just over 0.2s from Charles Leclerc. Oscar Piastri, Lando Norris and Max Verstappen completed the top 5, with the three of them all within half a second of the Italian as well.
Russell, Lawson, Hülkenberg, Hamilton and Hülkenberg completed the top 10 as Audi impressed in FP3. With Racing Bulls fixing his chassis through most of the session after his FP2 crash, Arvid Lindblad got seven laps in and ended up 14th.
In the fight at the back, Fernando Alonso led the way as he outpaced Carlos Sainz by 0.4s. On pure pace, Aston Martin, Williams and Cadillac would be comfortably the slowest teams.
