Rodin Motorsport’s Alex Dunne topped F2 Free Practice at the 2026 British GP with a 1:42.065 as Silverstone weekend got underway.
PREMA Racing’s Sebastián Montoya set the first benchmark after the 45-minute session began at 11:00 local time. However, Dunne, teammate Martinius Stenshorne and ART Grand Prix’s Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak soon moved ahead as the 22 drivers built towards representative laps.
MP Motorsport’s Gabriele Minì became the first driver to enter the 1:42s with a 1:42.865. Dunne then lowered the benchmark to 1:42.513 before Invicta Racing’s Rafael Câmara took control with a 1:42.136.
ART Grand Prix’s Kush Maini and DAMS Lucas Oil’s Roman Bilinski also joined the leading group, while Trident’s John Bennett, Montoya, Stenshorne and Campos Racing’s Nikola Tsolov featured inside the top 10.
Times continued to fall through the middle of the session. DAMS Lucas Oil’s Dino Beganovic climbed into the top three, MP Motorsport’s Oliver Goethe reached eighth and Invicta Racing’s Joshua Dürksen moved as high as third. Minì later improved to 1:42.354, but Câmara retained first place.
Track-limit deletions disrupted several runs, while Hitech’s Colton Herta stopped beside the circuit with a car issue and ended his session early. The stewards also placed Tsolov under investigation for an alleged yellow-flag infringement.
Dunne finally displaced Câmara with 11 minutes remaining. Montoya then climbed to fourth before race control activated the planned VSC, leaving Dunne at the top.
