Kenzo Craigie set the fastest time of the two-day 2026 FIA Formula Regional European Championship (FREC) post-season test at the Red Bull Ring, leading Wednesday morning for R-ace GP with a 1:25.066.

Dries Van Langendonck finished second overall for MP Motorsport, only 0.027s behind Craigie, while his teammate Rocco Coronel completed the overall top three. Reno Francot opened the test at the top for CL Motorsport on Tuesday morning before Van Langendonck led the afternoon. Craigie then moved ahead on Wednesday morning, while Van Amersfoort Racing’s Scott Kin Lindblom topped the final session.

The Red Bull Ring hosted the third and final two-day post-season test as teams continued preparations for 2027 and the FIA Formula Regional World Cup in Macau. The Austrian running followed the Paul Ricard post-season test, where Van Langendonck had set the overall benchmark, and completed the six-day programme that began at Hockenheim. FREC scheduled the three tests to give all ten teams opportunities to evaluate drivers and prepare for the following campaign.

The field also featured several changes during the Red Bull Ring test. Coronel and Kasper Schormans returned to MP Motorsport after missing Paul Ricard because of Formula 4 commitments. Meanwhile, Miguel Costa started Tuesday with Rodin Motorsport before moving to CL Motorsport on Wednesday, with Jensen Burnett taking over the Rodin seat. ART Grand Prix ran Edu Robinson on Tuesday before Alexandre Munoz returned on Wednesday, while RPM switched from Kabir Anurag and Felipe Reijs to Marcus Sæter and Teo Borenstein for the second day.

Francot sets the early benchmark on Tuesday morning

Francot opened the final post-season test at the top for CL Motorsport, setting a 1:25.262 during the opening three-hour session. The Dutchman completed 44 laps and finished 0.170s ahead of Van Langendonck, who immediately returned to the leading positions after topping the overall classification at Paul Ricard.

Craigie placed third for R-ace GP with a 1:25.528, while Costa began his brief Rodin Motorsport appearance in fourth. Oleksandr Bondarev completed the top five for R-ace GP, leaving only 0.315s between first and fifth.

Mattéo Giaccardi led ART Grand Prix’s drivers in sixth, while Coronel immediately placed seventh on his return to MP Motorsport. Robinson followed in eighth for ART Grand Prix, ahead of teammate Thibaut Ramaekers and Rodin Motorsport’s Alex Ninovic.

The margins remained particularly close throughout the leading group. Only half a second covered the first 10 drivers, while 17 competitors finished within eight tenths of Francot’s benchmark. The official Tuesday morning classification confirmed Francot as the quickest driver of the opening session

Coronel completed the top three with his 1:25.182, giving MP Motorsport two drivers among the leading three.

Francot’s opening-session benchmark ultimately placed him fourth overall despite only participating on Tuesday. His 1:25.262 left him 0.196s behind Craigie, while Lindblom finished fifth after setting a 1:25.272 on Wednesday morning before topping the final session.

Schormans took sixth overall ahead of Bondarev and Ninovic. Costa’s Wednesday morning lap placed him ninth for CL Motorsport, while Giaccardi completed an overall top 10 covered by only 0.462s.

The field remained closely matched beyond the leading positions. Seventeen drivers produced a fastest lap within seven tenths of Craigie, demonstrating the narrow margins that characterised the final two days of the post-season programme.
