Hitech’s Deagen Fairclough set the pace as pre-event 2026 GB3 test sessions at Silverstone concluded on Friday.

The British driver recorded a 1m50.139s lap during the second of the day’s three sessions, placing him just 0.071s ahead of Rodin Motorsport’s Abbi Pulling. Thursday pacesetter Lucas Fluxa completed a top three separated by only 0.081s.

Fairclough beats previous pole benchmark

Fairclough produced the fastest time of the two-day test during Friday’s second session. His 1m50.139s effort also beat the race-one pole time from GB3’s season-opening visit to Silverstone earlier this year.

The Hitech driver retained the overall lead despite a late challenge from Pulling, as the leading group closed considerably during the final day of preparation.

Pulling leads final session

Pulling topped the third and final session with her quickest lap of the day. The Rodin driver finished only 0.071s behind Fairclough in the combined classification and held a 0.010s advantage over Fluxa.

Fluxa took third for Xcel Motorsport through his Session 2 benchmark, having led Thursday’s opening day of testing.

Campbell-Pilling continues strong Xcel form

Rowan Campbell-Pilling completed a productive two days for Xcel by setting the fourth-fastest time. The British driver finished 0.215s behind Fairclough and edged VRD Racing championship leader Nikita Bedrin by just 0.002s.

Maxim Rehm placed sixth for Rodin Motorsport. He also became the final driver inside the top 10 to record his quickest lap during the last session.

Gonzalez leads tight midfield battle

Patricio Gonzalez took seventh for VRD after leading the opening session. He improved during Session 2 and finished just 0.003s ahead of Rodin’s Martin Molnar in eighth.

Elite Motorsport’s Flynn Jackes and Hitech’s Jacob Micallef completed the top 10. Only 0.595s separated Fairclough from Micallef.

Elite newcomer Edu Robinson matched Micallef’s lap time but took 11th in the combined classification. Meanwhile, less than one second covered the leading 17 drivers.

Qualifying awaits at Silverstone

The GB3 field will return to the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit for qualifying on Saturday at 09:35.

Indonesian driver Nadeem Rustombi finished 22nd while testing VRD Racing’s fourth car. He will not compete during the race weekend.
