The 2026 GT World Challenge (GTWC) America powered by AWS season completed its penultimate round at Barber Motorsports Park, where another three-hour race produced significant changes across the championship standings.
JMF Motorsports remains at the top of the Pro standings through Michai Stephens and Mikael Grenier, although AF Corse USA’s Matias Perez Companc has climbed into second after winning alongside Frederik Schandorff. In Pro-Am, Kyle Washington and Tom Sargent have reclaimed the Drivers’ Championship lead for GMG Racing after recovering to third in class, while RS1 also moved ahead of Wright Motorsports in the Teams’ standings.
Meanwhile, Jay Schreibman has extended his already substantial Am advantage after returning to victory with Oswaldo Negri. Mercedes-AMG continues to lead the Manufacturers’ Championship, although Ferrari made the largest gain at Barber and has moved into second ahead of BMW M and Porsche.
2026 GTWC America: Standings after Round 6 (Barber Motorsports Park): Pro: JMF extends lead as AF Corse moves into second
Michai Stephens and Mikael Grenier remain at the top of the Pro Drivers’ Championship with 114 points after securing their second consecutive runner-up finish. The JMF Motorsports pairing entered Barber four points ahead of Turner Motorsport and added another 18 points after finishing second overall and in class.
Stephens challenged Matias Perez Companc during the opening portion of the race and moved the No. 34 Mercedes-AMG into the lead as the pair negotiated traffic. However, AF Corse USA regained control later in the contest, with Frederik Schandorff ultimately taking the Ferrari back to the front and securing victory.
The full Barber Motorsports Park race report details how the changing strategies ultimately returned AF Corse USA to the overall lead.
Perez Companc consequently climbs from third to second in the Drivers’ Championship with 105 points. His 25-point victory reduces his deficit to Stephens and Grenier to nine points heading into the season finale. Schandorff, who returned to the No. 12 Ferrari after missing Road America, moves from 70 to 95 and sits fourth in the individual standings.
Justin Rothberg and Robby Foley drop from second to third despite adding another 12 points for Turner Motorsport. The No. 29 BMW M4 GT3 EVO started third and remained in podium contention before finishing fourth in Pro and sixth overall. The pair now has 104 points, placing them one behind Perez Companc and ten behind the championship leaders.
Michael McCann Jr. and Zachary Vanier climb to fifth on 79 points after taking the final Pro podium position. Vanier resisted late pressure from Foley to secure third in class, adding 15 points to the McCann Racing pairing’s championship total.
Alex Sedgwick and Cameron Lawrence remain on 68 points after Dollahite Racing did not compete at Barber, while Miguel Molina stays seventh on ten following his one appearance with AF Corse USA at Road America.

2026 GTWC America: Standings after Round 6 (Barber Motorsports Park): Pro-Am: GMG retakes championship lead after recovery
Kyle Washington and Tom Sargent have returned to the top of the Pro-Am Drivers’ Championship with 92 points after recovering from another difficult start to finish third in class.
The GMG Racing pairing arrived at Barber three points behind Wright Motorsports’ Dave Musial Jr. and Ryan Yardley following its Road America retirement. However, Washington encountered more trouble during the opening stages when contact sent the No. 32 Porsche into a spin and cost the team a lap.
GMG subsequently recovered through strategy and pace, while Sargent passed several rivals during the closing portion of the race to secure the final Pro-Am podium position. Their 15-point result created a nine-point swing compared with Wright and transformed a three-point deficit into a six-point Drivers’ Championship advantage. GMG Racing’s Barber recovery therefore returned Washington and Sargent to the position they had held through the opening four rounds.
Musial Jr. and Yardley drop to second with 86 points after finishing seventh in class. The Wright Motorsport pairing added six points and remains firmly involved in the championship battle, with only six separating the leading crews before the double-points Indianapolis finale.
Jan Heylen sits only two points further back on 84 after RS1 finished second in Pro-Am. Danny Dyszelski again partnered Heylen and added another 18 points to his individual total, moving to 36 from his two appearances.
Jason Daskalos remains fourth on 64 after finishing fourth alongside Philip Ellis. Ellis has consequently climbed to 47 points, placing him sixth among the drivers after scoring in each of his three appearances with the No. 27 JMF Motorsports Mercedes-AMG.
The largest gain belongs to Todd Coleman and Aaron Telitz. Their first GTWC America victory added 25 points and moved the Archangel Motorsports pairing from 21 to 46. They now sit seventh, only one point behind Ellis and two behind fifth-placed JP Martinez, who remains on 48.
Therese Lahlouh and Thomas Merrill remain on 44 after Wright Motorsports withdrew the No. 242 Porsche from the Barber weekend to allow Lahlouh to continue recovering from an acute illness and allergic reaction.
Brayton Williams and Daniel Morad also remain on 40 after TR3 Racing retired during the closing stages. Meanwhile, Colin Braun and Michael Clark move to 30, Andy Lee and Slade Stewart reach 27, and Riley Dickinson and Todd Parriott climb to 24. Scott Andrews and Tony Davis enter the points standings with ten following HP-TECH Motorsport’s fifth-place finish.

Archangel Motorsports makes the largest positional gain. Its victory moves the McLaren squad from ninth to fifth with 52 points. TR3 Racing and Kellymoss sit level on 45, followed by Riley Technologies on 33 and Triarsi Competizione on 30.

2026 GTWC America: Standings after Round 6 (Barber Motorsports Park): Am: Schreibman extends commanding advantage
Jay Schreibman has extended his lead at the top of the Am Drivers’ Championship after returning to victory with Oswaldo Negri at Barber.
Schreibman entered the weekend on 118 points after Scuderia Corsa ended AF Corse USA’s four-race winning streak at Road America. Negri returned to the No. 163 Ferrari after missing the previous two rounds and reunited with Schreibman for the penultimate event.
Their race included a significant setback when Schreibman made contact with Michael Clark and became stranded on track, triggering a Full Course Yellow. The Ferrari eventually returned to the race one lap behind, but the absence of another Am entry allowed Schreibman and Negri to complete the event and take the class victory.
The 25 points increase Schreibman’s total to 143, while Negri moves from 75 to 100. Schreibman therefore carries a 43-point advantage over his teammate into Indianapolis.
Benny Simonsen remains third on 43 points following his two appearances with AF Corse USA. Road America winners Jon Morley and Mitchell Green remain tied for fourth with 25, while Jay Logan and Marc Austin sit fifth on 18.
AF Corse USA has also extended its already commanding Teams’ Championship advantage. The Ferrari squad reaches 143 points, 118 clear of Scuderia Corsa on 25. MAD JOKER by Lone Star Racing remains third on 18.

2026 GTWC America: Standings after Round 6 (Barber Motorsports Park): SRO GT Academy: Barber scores await official update
Tom Sargent remains the leader in the latest published SRO GT Academy standings, although GT World Challenge America has not yet added the Round 6 Barber scores to its official Academy table.
Sargent entered Barber with 156 points after scoring 12 at Road America, ending a run of four consecutive maximum 36-point rounds. His 61-point advantage over Ryan Yardley therefore remains the latest confirmed margin published by the championship.
The Barber weekend should influence the order once SRO publishes the Round 6 scores. Sargent produced particularly strong individual pace, including the fastest lap across the two Qualifying sessions, while his recovery helped GMG Racing return to the Pro-Am podium.
Yardley entered the weekend second on 95 points, ahead of Zachary Vanier on 86. Vanier subsequently secured another Pro podium at Barber, while Matias Perez Companc took overall victory and pole for AF Corse USA.
However, the Academy allocates points primarily through individual performance metrics, including average pace and fastest laps, rather than simply using race finishing positions. Therefore, exact Barber scores cannot reliably be calculated from the race classification alone.
The standings below consequently reflect the latest figures currently published on the official GT World Challenge America website, with Round 6 still blank.
SRO GT Academy Standings
- Tom Sargent – 156
- Ryan Yardley – 95
- Zachary Vanier – 86
- Alex Sedgwick – 57
- Lorcan Hanafin – 56
- Hampus Eriksson – 44
- Riley Dickinson – 41
- Matias Perez Companc – 37
- Justin Rothberg – 25
2026 GTWC America: Standings after Round 6 (Barber Motorsports Park): Manufacturers: Mercedes-AMG leads Ferrari by 14
Mercedes-AMG remains at the top of the GTWC America Manufacturers’ Championship after adding another 18 points at Barber.
JMF Motorsports supplied the marque’s highest-scoring result with Stephens and Grenier finishing second overall and in Pro. Mercedes-AMG consequently increases its total from 96 to 114 points ahead of the season finale.
Ferrari makes the largest gain and climbs from fourth to second with 100 points. Perez Companc and Schandorff’s overall victory gives the manufacturer the maximum 25-point score and moves it ahead of both BMW M and Porsche.
BMW M drops from second to third despite Turner Motorsport adding another ten manufacturer points. The marque reaches 95 and sits five behind Ferrari and 19 behind Mercedes-AMG.
Porsche also loses one position, dropping from third to fourth with 91 points. RS1 supplied its strongest result by finishing second in Pro-Am, while GMG Racing completed the class podium. Porsche added 12 points and now sits only four behind BMW M.
McLaren climbs from sixth to fifth following Archangel Motorsports’ breakthrough victory. The manufacturer adds 15 points to reach 56, moving four clear of Ford, which remains on 52 after Dollahite Racing did not compete at Barber.
Aston Martin increases its total to 38, while Lamborghini remains on 16. Corvette stays ninth without a point.
Manufacturers’ Standings
- Mercedes-AMG – 114
- Ferrari – 100
- BMW M – 95
- Porsche – 91
- McLaren – 56
- Ford – 52
- Aston Martin – 38
- Lamborghini – 16

Championship fights head to double-points Indianapolis finale
Barber has reshaped several championship battles before the final round. JMF Motorsports still controls Pro, but the closest challenger has changed after AF Corse USA’s second victory of the season. Perez Companc now sits nine points behind Stephens and Grenier, while Rothberg and Foley remain only one point further back.
The Pro Teams’ Championship mirrors that close battle. JMF leads AF Corse USA by nine and Turner Motorsport by ten, leaving all three firmly involved before the final race.
Pro-Am experienced another major reversal. Washington and Sargent arrived three points behind Musial Jr. and Yardley but leave Barber six ahead after recovering to the podium. Heylen also remains within reach on 84 points, only eight behind the leaders. In the Teams’ Championship, GMG holds 95 points, RS1 follows on 89 and Wright sits third on 86.
Schreibman continues to hold the largest individual class advantage with 143 points in Am, while AF Corse USA possesses an unassailable lead in the Am Teams’ Championship. Mercedes-AMG also remains in control of the Manufacturers’ standings, although Ferrari has reduced the advantage to 14 points following its Barber victory.
The championship now heads to the DESDER Indianapolis 8 Hour from 8–10 October. The season-ending event awards double points, increasing the maximum available for victory from 25 to 50 and ensuring that the closely contested Pro and Pro-Am championship battles remain open heading into the final race.
