2026 Indy NXT Detroit Qualifying results

Qualifying for round 7 of the 2026 Indy NXT season in Detroit has been completed, view the full results here.

Two practice sessions are complete on the streets of Detroit, and the field has already had its hands full. With multiple drivers finding the run-off, several big slides and a couple red flags, qualifying is shaping up to be a true test of confidence and precision around the tight street circuit.

Group 1 qualifying results

Group 1 started out with Lochie Hughes setting the early benchmark with a 1:07. He stayed at the top of the timesheets as laptimes tumbled.

Alessandro de Tullio, Matteo Nannini and Tymek Kucharczyk also began trading the top spot.

Just before the checkered flag, Hughes brushed the wall, leaving de Tullio quickest in Group 1 with a 1:05.366. Kucharczyk finished second with a 1:05.371, just 0.005 seconds behind, while Hughes ended the session third with a 1:05.410.

Group 2 qualifying results

Group 2 opened with Max Taylor, Seb Murray and Salvador de Alba becoming the first drivers in the 1:07s.

JM Correa then jumped to the top of the timesheets with a 1:06.677, ahead of de Alba, who followed closely with a 1:06.7.

Taylor put himself back in first with a 1:06.2 before being displaced by Correa, who lowered the benchmark to a 1:05.884.

With four minutes remaining, Carson Etter brought out a red flag after hitting the wall in Turn 4. Ricardo Escotto also had a heavy hit with the wall, leaving debris on track.

Taylor pipped Correa in the final minute to take first in Group 2 with a 1:05.605, but it was not enough for the overall pole. Group 2 will fill the even side of the grid, while Group 1 and polesitter Alessandro de Tullio will fill the odd side.
