During Practice 1, Kyle Kirkwood topped the timing table ahead of Alex Palou and David Malukas. Unfortunately, Malukas suffered a massive crash between Turns 1 and 2, bringing out the yellow flag.
IndyCar’s medical team confirmed Malukas was awake and alert following the incident. However, the No. 12 car did not run in Qualifying at Nashville.
Additionally, Graham Rahal had a fuel pressure issue, unable to set a lap time.
Kyle Kirkwood scored pole position during Nashville Qualifying ahead of Josef Newgarden and Scott McLaughlin.
Notably, Christian Lundgaard’s No. 7 and David Malukas’ No. 12 car received a nine-place grid penalty for taking an additional engine. They will drop down the start order.
