In qualifying, David Malukas made history as he grabbed his first pole in IndyCar. Josef Newgraden joined him on the front row. RLL had a superb day as Graham Rahal and rookie Mick Schumacher locked out the second row.

With Scott Dixon down in P15, Christian Rasmussen in 18th and Will Power at the back following his qualifying crash, entertainment was inevitable.

In the early stages, Dennis Hauger had a massive scare as he spun. He did a superb job to avoid the wall in his Dale Coyne Racing machine.

A second caution led to a huge moment early in 2026. With Rinus VeeKay looking to go high and around the outside of Alex Palou, contact was made. The Spaniard ended up in the wall and was out of the race. He loses the championship lead for the first time since June 2024.

With just over 100 laps to go, Louis Foster got in the marbles and smacked the wall to bring out caution number three.

A fourth caution appeared inside the last 50 laps. Battling for the race lead, Will Power and Christian Rasmussen had contact. The Dane clipped the wall and the right rear tyre of the Australian as the ECR driver tried to around the outside; the Andretti driver drifted towards him a tiny bit.

As Rasmussen clipped the wall yet again and had damage that saw him sink through the pack, Josef Newgraden used his new tyres following a stop under the last caution to steam through and win. Kirkwood and Malukas rounded out the podium.
