Andretti Global has just announced the signing of Ron Ruzewski as new Team Principal for the upcoming IndyCar 2026 season. The American engineer joins the outlet affiliated with TWG Motorsports after over twenty years with Team Penske.
Ruzewski’s motorsport curriculum is extensive and impressive, having served in many roles, including Managing Director and Race Strategist for two times champion Will Power. However, the former Yamaha engineer was among the chief figures departing from the titled team following the Indy 500, alongside Tim Cindric and Kyle Moyer.
At Andretti Global Ruzewski will definitely with former colleague Will Power, who will drive car no. 26 in the upcoming IndyCar 2026 season. The Australian driver will replace Colton Herta, set to return to European Formula racing in Formula 2.

Andretti Global’s legacy in motorsport speaks for itself, and the team’s vision for the future, under the leadership of Dan (Towriss) and Jill (Gregory), is equally inspiring.” Said the new Andretti Global Team Principal upon his arrival to the front fighting team.
A good starting point for the 2026 season
During the 2025 IndyCar season Andretti secured three race wins with Kyle Kirkwood, the second most successful driver in the championship apart from title winner Alex Palou. Such a positive streak, achieved at rather different types of tracks, sets a strong basis to build on for the future.

TWG Motorsports CEO Dan Towriss saluted the latest key figure joining Andretti, praising his competence.

Ron’s impressive and successful career in motorsports brings a new perspective to our INDYCAR and INDY NXT teams. I have full confidence he will position the team strongly as we continue to build for the future.”
A new era begins at Andretti Global
At Andretti Global Ruzewski will replace long time Team Principal Rob Edwards, who will instead take on the role of Chief Performance Officer at TWG Motorsports for the IndyCar 2026 season.
Edwards had joined Andretti over ten years ago, and will bring over thirty years of motorsport experience at the highest levels in his new career step.
The American born, UK raised Engineer expressed his pleasure with the announcement, wishing all the best to his successor.
“I’m excited about the new opportunity as chief performance officer for TWG Motorsports. I look forward to being able to contribute across multiple series. Ron and I have known each other since the early 1990s, and he is a great choice to lead the Andretti programs forward.”
Additionally, Towriss thanked Edwards for his years within the Andretti family, sharing his joy as he joins the new organisation.
