Jak Crawford and Frederik Vesti will be behind the wheel of Andretti’s Formula E challengers for the upcoming six hours long Berlin Rookie test. The promising and talented young driver duo has already had some FE experiences, but it will be the first official outing for this driver pairing.

A recent return for Crawford

Crawford has recently joined the American team as Reserve and Development driver, and will undertake his third outing for Andretti in the Formula E Rookie test. The American talent is a part of the recently debuted Aston Martin F1’s Driver Development Programme, and is also competing in his third Formula 2 season with Dams, achieving so far in 2025 two race wins and a podium.

Crawford is excited for the upcoming test, follwoing the incredibly successful runs in Madrid and Jeddah during which he achieved a P2 and P1, as he commented on the announcement:

”I’m looking forward to getting back the car for another outing. It feels like it hasn’t been that long ago that I was driving in Free Practice 0 in Jeddah, so I’m excited to get back out and put in some good work for the team.”

I really enjoyed driving the track in Berlin at last year’s Rookie Test and felt I performed well, so very much looking forward to getting some more laps under my belt.”

American debut for Vesti

He will team up with Mercedes driver Fred Vesti. Runner up in the 2023 Formula 2 season, the Danish driver has recently switched his racing focus to endurance, competing in the European Le Mans series in 2024 and in the 24H of Le Mans.

Vesti had made his electric debut with Mahindra in Season 10’s edition of the Berlin Rookie Test, alongside Kush Maini, who will be returning for the Indian team.

Vesti, who has also driven the W16 during FP1 in Bahrain, is glad to have a chance to test the recently introduced Gen3Evo car.

“I’m extremely happy and proud to be participating in the Rookie Test. I did the one-day test last year and had a good experience in the Formula E car.”

But this time around with a bit more experience and with a great team such as Andretti behind me, it’s going to be a really exciting day for me to explore the all new GEN3 Evo, work with engineers and of course, learn from the team. Hopefully, I can also contribute to some of the team’s different test items throughout the day.”
