Mari Boya heads into the final round of the 2025 Formula 3 season with confidence, as he sets his sights on securing second place in the Drivers’ Championship while also helping Campos Racing fight for the Teams’ title at the Italian GP.

Boya is aiming to secure second place in the Drivers’ Championship while also playing a key role in helping Campos Racing seal the Teams’ title. The Spaniard, who has spent the last two seasons with the outfit, believes the squad’s hard work deserves to be rewarded with the championship crown.

The team is really pushing us a lot and they are looking forward to it. I would love to finish my F3 campaign winning the Teams’ Championship. I feel they deserve it a lot, but not only with me but the season has been hard for all three cars.

He endured a difficult start to the season, leaving Round 1 in Melbourne without scoring any points. Furthermore, a series of poor qualifying sessions left him starting further down the grid, turning the early races into recovery drives rather than opportunities to fight at the front.

“We lost a lot of points and everything was outside our control because the car is more or less similar to the beginning of the year, but things had not been going our way.

“It’s a bit of a shame, I feel we have been the strongest team this year but there are still many points to score going into the final round. As drivers, we will try to give our maximum and bring the Championship home.”

His 2025 F3 season

For the second half of the season, Boya breathed new life into his campaign. From his P3 in the Feature Race in Monaco, to his victory in the Silverstone Feature Race, he has achieved 5 podiums finishes, which has contributed 108 points to Campos’ 262 total.

Boya also signed with the Aston Martin Driver Academy this year, an achievement he is particularly proud of and one that added an extra highlight to his season.

“The season has gone very fast to be honest, I was speaking with someone just before about how quickly it’s gone and you don’t even realise it, but I am happy about the season.

“For sure as an experienced driver I would have loved to have scored more points at the beginning of the season, to make the difference to the rookie drivers, but it wasn’t the case.

“We have been really strong in the second part of the season, but racing is like this and sometimes you cannot deal with or control things as you may want.

“But still, I think overall it has been a really good year and really happy and proud about Campos and also all the things that happened with me, together with Aston Martin, it has been a brilliant year.”

Looking ahead to the F3 Italian GP

As Monza is one of the circuits all F3 drivers are familiar with, Free Practice will be crucial for Boya to fine-tune his setup ahead of the all-important final Qualifying session of the Italian GP.

“We will start with Free Practice, to see what we need. We will see what the situation is because every year is different. It’s the first year with this car on this track, so let’s see what it’s asking for.”

“But for sure Monza, in all conditions, not only in quali, but in the races, you can make the difference, also with the Soft compounds. I would like to see how the situation is in Free Practice and try to work with the team as well to prepare as well as we can for qualifying.”

Boya also has a strong history at Monza, having secured P3 in the 2023 Sprint Race. Reflecting on his season, he expressed pride in his progress, from not even being in the top 10 at Imola earlier in the year to now fighting to hold onto his P2 in the Drivers’ Standings.

“It’s a track I like a lot. I know what it means to make the podium here so for sure it’s a special track for me.

“If you told me about this season after Imola, when I wasn’t even in the top 10, so the progress we have done is amazing. I knew the pace and potential was there, I always said it, but it’s one thing to say it, it’s another to do it.

“But I am feeling like I am in one of my best moments of my career, maybe even my best one. I am enjoying myself all the time in the car, and I am enjoying this moment.”
