Campos Racing finally secured its long-awaited victory in F2 on home turf, as Arvid Lindblad delivered a commanding performance to win the 2025 Barcelona Feature Race at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. The result not only marked a significant milestone for the Spanish outfit but also propelled them back to the top of the Teams’ Standings for the first time since Round 3 in Jeddah.

Lindblad earned a vital 27 points on Sunday, while teammate Josep María Martí added a solid sixth-place finish to bolster the team’s haul. The combined total of 36 points represented a successful rebound from a difficult weekend in Monaco and signalled a continued rise in performance for Campos.

Adrian Campos Jr reflects on long-awaited home triumph

Team Principal Adrian Campos Jr expressed satisfaction with the team’s overall performance, although he acknowledged there remained areas where results could have improved further.

“I can’t complain. Obviously, there is always something that could have been better. In the end, if we look at the weekend overall, winning the Feature Race and having Pepe in P6, it’s a good amount of points for the team.”

He also highlighted misfortune for Martí during the earlier stages of the weekend, particularly in Qualifying.

“On the other side, Pepe was very unlucky in Qualifying, I think. He missed out by a very small amount and could have been in the top five easily.”

“Also on Saturday with the late Safety Car, we could have pitted which would have been good for him too. That could have been better, but anyway, I wish we could have other weekends like this.”

Despite those setbacks, Campos Jr viewed the weekend as a turning point in terms of consistency and execution.

Strong start and set-up confidence yield results

From the outset, the Campos squad demonstrated a competitive edge. Their ability to unload with a well-prepared and responsive car boosted confidence heading into both races. This immediate pace translated into Lindblad’s dominant display on Sunday. Moreover, Campos Jr pointed to the team’s adaptability across different types of circuits as a key strength this season.

“I think we have been one of the teams that is always competitive. We might not always be the quickest each weekend, but we are always competitive.”

“We normally do not struggle, and we have very good pace. That’s something I am very happy with so far this season, very happy with the team.”

He further noted that this consistency did not come as a surprise, given their performances in the previous year.

“I think it is something that we saw last year also on most race weekends, we were competitive. We might have better or worse luck sometimes, but we were always showing very good pace. That is what I am seeing this year.”

Monaco setbacks make Barcelona success more meaningful

Although the team now sits atop the standings again, the path to recovery began with the lessons learned in Monaco. There, Martí failed to qualify inside the top ten, while Lindblad lost points to penalties in both the Sprint and Feature races. However, both Campos drivers returned to the points on Sunday at the 2025 Barcelona F2 Round, demonstrating resilience and determination.

Campos Jr viewed the turnaround as a key development, particularly for Lindblad, whose rookie trajectory continues to impress.

“Pepe has started very well this year. I think he had a difficult weekend in Monaco and just needed to get the confidence back.”

“Arvid is also improving very quickly, race-by-race, and it is showing in the potential that our car has.”

“I am sure that we will be there in one or both of the races in Red Bull Ring, and I am sure that Pepe will be quick enough to get that confidence back and start fighting for wins again.”

Momentum building ahead of Red Bull Ring return

Looking ahead to Round 7 at the Red Bull Ring, Campos Jr believes the team will carry forward its momentum from the 2025 F2 Barcelona Round. Notably, Campos Racing has already demonstrated strength around the Austrian circuit in recent years, including in Formula 3.

“Winning is always good. But to win in Barcelona – we did it the last three years in F3, but never in F2. I did not even realise it was the first time, but it is good to get it done.”

He also recalled the performance of former driver Isack Hadjar, who looked poised for a pole position at the Red Bull Ring before an unfortunate issue curtailed his efforts.

“Red Bull Ring – I expect it to be a good weekend. Last year, we were very competitive with Isack until he had an issue in Qualifying after the first runs.”

“He was P1 by quite a big margin, so I am very confident that we will be very competitive once again this season.”

Confidence and continuity fuel Campos campaign

As the 2025 F2 season continues to unfold, Campos Racing appears well-equipped for a sustained championship challenge. The home victory in Barcelona served not only as a milestone win but also as confirmation of their competitive consistency across varying conditions and circuit types.

With Lindblad’s rapid progress and Martí’s potential waiting to be unlocked, Campos Racing now enters the next phase of the campaign with both momentum and belief firmly on their side.
