CUPRA KIRO heads to the inaugural 2025/26 Formula E Madrid E-Prix, hoping to carry the momentum from its first double-points finish in Jeddah.
The CUPRA Raval Madrid E-Prix marks a special weekend for the team and its Co-Title Partner, CUPRA, as the Spanish manufacturer prepares to launch its urban electric car, the CUPRA Raval. Meanwhile, Spanish Rookie Pepe Martí prepares for his first home race in Formula E.
Held at the Circuito del Jarama, which features 14 technical turns and elevation changes, the track will also host the 2026 Formula E Rookie Test. Representing the team during the session will be Development Driver Bianca Bustamante and F2 driver Cian Shields.
Ticktum targets more points
After a misfortune-filled start to the 2025/26 Formula E campaign, Dan Ticktum finally scored his first points of the season at the Jeddah E-Prix Race 2, with a P5 finish. Therefore, heading into the Madrid E-Prix, Ticktum highlighted his goal of scoring more points with CUPRA KIRO.
“Obviously, this weekend’s race is a big event for our Co-Title Partner, CUPRA, and it’s one that we’re all looking forward to. Jarama is a good track to drive, and every lap is always fun and rewarding,” he noted as the Circuito del Jarama previously hosted Formula E during the 2024 pre-season testing.
“Now that we have some points on the board this season, I really want to build on that and hopefully, we can have a good result in Madrid.”
Martí: “excited to race at home”
On the other side of the garage, Pepe Martì has so far had an impressive debut season, as he currently sits seven points ahead of his teammate in the Drivers’ Standings. Despite a heavy incident in the opening race, the Spaniard has gone on to score points in nearly every E-Prix, including a recent P6 finish in Jeddah’s Round 5.
“I’m very excited to race at home this weekend,” he shared. “We’re coming to Madrid following a very strong performance in Race 2 in Jeddah and in the team, hopes are very high. I think it would be ideal if we can maintain this upward trend of good performances and results, and for me, the goal is to score points.”
He continued: “I’m very happy with how this season is progressing, and I’m very excited to race at home and to see Formula E’s Spanish fans. I’d love to reward them for their support with a strong finish.”
