Andretti Global has confirmed that Season 9 World Champion Jake Dennis has signed a multi-year contract extension with its Andretti Formula E operation. As a result, the British driver will remain with the team through Season 13 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship and beyond.
Importantly, the announcement arrives exactly five years after Dennis made his Formula E debut with the Indianapolis-based squad at the 2021 Diriyah E-Prix. Since then, both driver and team have built one of the most enduring and successful partnerships in the championship’s history.
A record-breaking rise through the Formula E ranks sees Dennis score multi-year extension with Andretti
Dennis joined the outfit in Season 7 when it operated as BMW i Andretti Motorsport. From the outset, he established himself as a frontrunner. He finished third in the standings as a rookie and immediately signalled his intent.
Subsequently, he captured the Season 9 Drivers’ World Championship title in 2023 and cemented his place as the team’s most successful Formula E driver. Across his tenure, he has secured seven race victories, 24 podium finishes and seven pole positions. Moreover, he has amassed a team-record 700 career points.
In addition, Dennis has set multiple championship benchmarks. He recorded the most points in a single season (229) and the most podiums in one campaign (11). He also achieved the most Formula E Grand Slams (two) and made a record 14 Final Duel appearances.
Consequently, he has become one of the defining drivers of the current Formula E era.
Commitment built on trust
The new agreement not only secures stability for the team but also reinforces the mutual trust that both parties have cultivated over five seasons. Dennis has grown with the organisation, while Andretti has shaped its Formula E ambitions around his development and leadership.
Reflecting on the renewed commitment, Dennis highlighted the importance of continuity and belief within a high-performance environment. He stressed that the relationship extends beyond contracts and results, pointing instead to the shared culture and collective ambition that define the team.
“I’m absolutely thrilled to be signing a multi-year deal with Andretti Global. For me, it made perfect sense to continue our partnership and my career with the team, a team which I’ve been with from the start of my Formula E career. The belief the team has shown in me over the years has been incredible, and that trust means a huge amount. We’ve built something really strong together, and I’m proud to continue that journey with a group of people I know so well and genuinely enjoy working with. There have been so many great memories together, and I’m confident we can continue our success into the future.”
A partnership strengthened by loyalty
Dennis’ remarks underline how central stability has become in Formula E’s increasingly competitive landscape. While many teams have rotated driver line-ups in pursuit of marginal gains, Andretti has instead doubled down on a proven combination.
Team Principal Roger Griffiths echoed that sentiment and placed the extension within the broader arc of the team’s transformation. He acknowledged that the original partnership, formed alongside BMW, carried promise but no guarantees. However, he emphasised that Dennis’ belief in the project proved instrumental in elevating the squad into title contenders.
“I am beyond pleased to be able to make this announcement. At the time, when the team, along with BMW, initially partnered with Jake, we never could have imagined how the relationship would develop. Jake has been an integral part of Andretti Formula E’s transformation into one of the series’ leading teams of today. His commitment to us, his belief in the team and ours in him, is one of the key reasons for all of the success we have been fortunate enough to have experienced together. We look forward to closing out the current season as strong as we started it before transitioning to Season 13 together.”
Eyes on Madrid and beyond as Dennis chases Season 12 Formula E glory with Andretti
Looking ahead, Dennis will return to the cockpit of the No. 27 Andretti Porsche 99X Electric when Formula E races in Madrid for the first time. The series will stage the 2026 CUPRA Raval Madrid E-Prix on 21 March in the Spanish capital.
Therefore, the renewed agreement not only celebrates five years of shared success but also underlines Andretti’s long-term ambition and stability. As Season 13 approaches, Dennis and Andretti aim to build on their formidable record and pursue further championship glory together.
