The F2 Italian GP Sprint Race was chaos as you would expect from Monza. The Temple of Speed delivered wheel to wheel battle, penalties, and plenty of incidents. Podium sitters Joshua Duerksen and Arvid Lindblad, search for victory in the Feature Race. Sprint Race winner Leonardo Fornaroli looks for another victory to extend his Championship lead.
Luke Browning took off from pole position, looking to climb the Championship Standings, while Alpine junior Kush Maini started next to him. The second row was locked out Stanek and Goethe in P3 and P4 respectively. Closing out the top ten from P5 to P10 was Dunne, Lindblad, Duerksen, Fornaroli, Beganovic, and finally Crawford.
With Monza being the final European round of the season, every driver will be fighting their hardest. Monza is known for its overtaking ability, incident potential and DRS trains, so these factors all play into today’s Feature Race. The only drive to win the F2 Feature Race from pole in Monza was Oscar Piastri back in 2021. This is be a statistic Browning hopes to change.

This saw the entire field that was yet to pit enter the pit lane. This didn’t work in Goethe’s favour, dropping him to P8 after pitting just a few laps earlier. Lindblad was awarded a 10s penalty.
The Safety Car retreated to the pit lane at the end of lap 10. Shields went off down towards Parabolica. Browning controlled the restart, Lindblad locked up into turn one, completely wiping out Stanek. Martins was also spun as a result, with many cars forced to run wide. Another Safety Car was released.
The Safety Car retreated to the pit lane at the end of lap 13. Browning controlled the restart once again. He took off into Parabolica, Duerksen remaining right on his tail. Duerksen moved up on Browning on the run down to turn one and taking the race lead. Meguetounif lost control down to turn one, stopping on the run off.
The Safety Car was released following a long lasting Yellow Flag. It retreated to the pit lane at the end of lap 16. Race Control noted Goethe for not following the race directors instructions.

Race Control noted Villagomez for moving under breaking, but there was no further investigation. Browning chased Duerksen down the front straight, just making it past into turn one. Fornaroli goes side by side with Crawford into Lesmos 1, not making it by.
Fornaroli got a great exit out of Parabolica, taking P5 from Crawford. Beganovic searched for a move on Goethe, successfully getting past into P8, before Goethe fought back and took the position back again. Beganovic got a great exit from the Lesmos, and got around Goethe into Ascari.
Marti attempted to snatch P3 from Villagomez into turn one. He was unable to get his car stopped, being forced to take the escape road and hand back P3. Mini looked to make his move on Crawford into turn one, successfully taking P6.

A sprint to the chequered flag

Fornaroli stumbled through the next chicane, allowing Beganovic to gain time on him. As the final lap began, Marti looked to make a move on Duerksen through turn one. He locked up, narrowly avoiding contact with Duerksen.
Villagomez locked up through Ascari, hanging onto his P4. Browning crossed the line 3.5s ahead, followed by Duerksen and Marti who finish the podium positions. Villagomez followed Marti across the line.
