Rafael Câmara may not have featured on the podium in Saturday’s Formula 3 Sprint Race at the Belgian GP, but a composed fifth-place finish was enough to extend his championship lead to 126 points. The Brazilian continues to display remarkable consistency at the front, recovering from a lower grid position to secure six crucial points and keep the 2025 F3 Championship title momentum firmly in his hands.
Tsolov returns to P2 in the standings
Behind Câmara, the fight for second place has intensified. Nikola Tsolov delivered one of the standout performances of the race, surging up to fourth at the flag and moving ahead of Tim Tramnitz in the championship. The Bulgarian now sits on 98 points, with a bold three-wide move through Eau Rouge a particular highlight of his racecraft.
Tramnitz, by contrast, had a quiet race and failed to score, slipping to third in the standings on 93 points. His inability to recover ground has given Tsolov a five-point buffer heading into Sunday’s Feature Race.
Strømsted claims back-to-back Sprint Race wins
Trident’s Noah Strømsted claimed another F3 Sprint Race win in 2025, taking a commanding victory from the front row at the Belgian GP. After an early battle with pole-sitter Freddie Slater, the Dane used DRS to take the lead down the Kemmel Straight and never looked back. His composed drive puts him up to sixth in the standings with 73 points—leapfrogging Théophile Naël in the process.
Martinius Stenshorne also added four points with a seventh-place result, bringing his total to 80 and keeping him in the championship hunt in fifth position.
Ugochukwu and Wurz add to podium club
Ugo Ugochukwu produced one of the best drives of the day to take second for Prema Racing, capitalising on DRS opportunities and tyre management to surge through the field. It marked his second podium of the 2025 season and lifts him from 16th to 16th in the standings, now with 31 points.
Charlie Wurz rounded out the podium in third, scoring his first top-three finish of the campaign. The Austrian’s strong performance boosts him to 15th in the championship with 33 points, as he eyes a more consistent second half of the season.
Tight midfield battle heats up
Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak’s sixth-place finish pushes him up to 38 points, consolidating his position inside the top 15. Del Pino, Badoer, and Slater completed the top ten, with the latter fading late in the race after a strong start from pole.
Further back, Alessandro Giusti claimed a single point in P11 to move to 55 in the standings, staying in eighth overall. Bruno Del Pino’s eighth-place result brings him to 16 points and up to 22nd, as the midfield battle tightens significantly.
Championship picture heading into Sunday
While Strømsted, Ugochukwu, and Wurz celebrated podium success on Saturday, the broader championship narrative remains centred on Câmara’s calm control and the increasingly competitive chase pack behind him. With only a handful of rounds left, Tsolov’s climb to second marks a significant shift, while Tramnitz and Stenshorne will need strong responses to stay within reach of the title fight.
The Spa weekend continues with the all-important Feature Race on Sunday, where bigger points—and possibly more drama in the standings—are still to come.
