Despite a tough 2025 debut season as an F3 driver with MP Motorsport, Bruno del Pino managed to earn himself the support of Van Amersfoort Racing for a second campaign. The Spaniard had a challenging maiden year. Yet, his constant motivation despite setbacks helped him finish P23 in the FIA Formula 3 Drivers’ Championship.
Since his first year in Eurocup-3, del Pino has remained with MP Motorsport throughout his motorsport journey. After a tough rookie season where he fought to find consistency, his best result came from the Imola Round. With an F3 podium in the Sprint Race, del Pino claimed his first top 3 result in the series. Accumulating a total of 16 points over ten rounds, the 19-year-old finished behind both of his teammates.
A debut to forget in Melbourne
In his first time behind the wheel of an F3 car, Bruno del Pino was met with disappointment. The Spaniard’s Qualifying put him at the back of the grid for both races. His failure to set a lap time within 107% of the fastest time caused him issues from the start. These struggles manifested again during the Sprint, where a crash between del Pino and AIX Racing driver Javier Sagrera had them both DNF.
Unfortunately, the frustrations did not stop there for the MP driver. His first Feature Race saw him finish outside of points, in P26. Del Pino’s F3 2025 Australian race weekend left much to be desired for the next rounds.
The silver lining of Bahrain
Coming back in better spirits after a month-long break between rounds, del Pino set his sights on a recovery drive. While he originally qualified P5 overall at Sakhir, a starting procedure infringement sent him straight to the pit lane. This upsetting decision ruined Bruno del Pino’s chances for a top result in his second F3 race in 2025.
While he fought hard and managed to climb all the way to P19 in the Sprint Race, it was not enough to earn points. This cannot be said for his encouraging overtaking in the Feature. The MP Motorsport driver recovered the positions lost and even took home 2 points with a P9 finish. A first for del Pino in the series, this result pushed him to follow up on the momentum.
Imola’s standout performance
The Spaniard’s Italian Round started off with an impressive performance in Qualifying, which earned him pole for the Sprint. His P1 start allowed del Pino to go off and claim his ultimate accomplishment in the F3 2025 season. Despite not being able to fend off his more experienced teammate, Tramnitz, the 19-year-old defended his place in P2 all the way to the checkered flag.
In an unfortunate turn of events, the Feature Race at Imola spoiled the MP driver’s seemingly ideal weekend. A mistake in the on-track battle between del Pino and Campos’s Nikola Tsolov sent the Spanish driver straight to the pits. Their collision cost del Pino his front wing as the damage was pretty substantial. Even after his pit stop, the F3 rookie could not catch up to the rest of the pack, finishing P27.
A rough weekend in Monte Carlo
Dejected after Imola, Bruno del Pino’s streak of bad luck continued into the F3 2025 Monaco Round. While assigned to Group A, the Spaniard’s pace during Qualifying was slow compared to the top 10. He ended up in P25 overall, P13 in his group. Del Pino then went on to receive a 5-second time penalty for a false start during the Sprint, alongside a 10-second one for leaving the track and gaining an advantage.
If that was not enough misfortune, the MP driver’s Feature was the nail in the coffin. Talllying up his first DNF in his F3 campaign, del Pino’s contact with Marinangeli in the first lap of the race ended his Feature before it even began.
Another penalty in Barcelona
Coming into his home race weekend, the Spanish driver was hopeful for a better Qualifying outcome. Yet, his F3 2025 Barcelona Round left Bruno del Pino faced with the harsh realisation of a qualifying problem. The rookie started both races from P20. His Sprint Race did see a great improvement from del Pino, showing overtaking skills as he rose 8 positions to finish P12.
However, del Pino’s Feature Race saw him struggling with staying behind the white lines. This, unfortunately, earned him a penalty, which dropped him to P17.
The Austrian Round learning curve
At Spielberg, Bruno del Pino was determined to overcome his qualifying performance so far in the F3 2025 season. Focused on his pace, the Spanish driver managed to put his MP Motorsport’s car all the way up to P4. This was del Pino’s best result, setting him up for success.
Nonetheless, things are never as straightforward as they look in Formula 3. And in his battle for ninth place in the Sprint, the Spaniard collided with Brad Benavides. The damage earned him a trip to the pit wall, yet his late pit stop damned him to P23. His Feature Race quickly turned sour as del Pino missed out on the podium after dropping down to P22 in the earlier laps.
While he recovered some positions, finishing in P19, this result was unexpected after his competitive form in Qualifying.
A good recovery at Silverstone
Coming into the F3 2025 British Round, del Pino’s struggles with Qualifying returned. The MP driver managed to put out a lap that earned him a place in P22. Disheartened, his Sprint Race only saw slight improvements from the rookie, with a two-place climb in the grid raising him to P20.
An unexpected turn of events happened during the British Feature Race. The heavy rain around the track benefited del Pino significantly. He not only put out a great drive despite the tricky conditions, but he also completed the top 10 with a rewarding P9. His efforts during the storm were impressive as del Pino took advantage of the opportunity.
Exciting times for del Pino around Spa-Francorchamps
After his comeback at Silverstone, the Spaniard was set on impressing for the rest of the season. In his efforts, Bruno del Pino’s Qualifying for the F3 2025 Belgian GP ended with a well-deserved P10. The reverse-grid start for the Sprint put del Pino’s MP up in the second line, and from there, he battled to remain in the top 10 point-scorer positions. The rookie delivered an imposing performance for P8.
Unfortunately, the Feature Race was cancelled due to the terrible rainstorms that rendered the session too unsafe. Nevertheless, Bruno del Pino brought home another round of points.
Disappointment all around at the Hungaroring
Del Pino’s recovery did not last long as he could not find his footing throughout the F3 2025 Hungary Round. Despite his attempts, the tricky Qualifying session put the Spaniard in a tough spot at the back of the pack, P27. The Sprint Race piled on a disheartening result, as del Pino finished in P25.
Trying to overcome the frustrating Sprint, the MP Motorsport driver tried to regroup for the Feature Race. Yet, the lack of pace damaged his results again, with a repeat P25 after crossing the finish line. With only one more round of the 2025 F3 championship, Bruno del Pino had another chance to prove himself.
The Monza finale
With everything to gain, del Pino embraced the challenge of the Temple of Speed. His Qualifying welcomed the familiar hardships that the Spaniard learned to expect, putting a lap that set him at the bottom of Group B’s timesheet with a P14. However, he did not let that affect him as he went into the Sprint Race.
He had a steady climb through the grid, ending his last Sprint in P14. His season finale Feature Race brought him just outside of points, in P11, after a tough on-track battle. Despite crossing the checkered flag behind his teammates, these results showcased del Pino’s consistency.
Future prospects
After a challenging F3 season, filled with unfortunate mistakes and the learning curve of being a rookie, Bruno del Pino finished 2025 willing to regress and recover. His motivation earned him a second attempt for next year.
While abandoning MP Motorsport, the Spaniard’s switch to Van Amersfoort Racing has the most potential for success. With a new team backing him up and a year’s worth of experience, de Pino is set to improve further.
