Andretti Formula E confirmed Felipe Drugovich as their second driver from season 12 onwards, replacing Nico Müller. The Aston Martin reserve and development driver links up with world champion Jake Dennis. He first sampled Formula E with Maserati at the Berlin Rookie Test in 2023, then made his race debut with Mahindra in Berlin this year, covering for Nyck de Vries.

From junior success to F1 reserve and beyond

Drugovich climbed the ladder with speed and consistency. He collected wins in ADAC and Italian F4 before dominating Euroformula Open in 2018, taking 14 victories in 16 races. After a challenging year in FIA Formula 3, he found his stride in Formula 2, winning as a rookie with MP Motorsport and later sealing the 2022 championship on his return to the team. That triumph opened the door to Aston Martin’s Formula 1 programme, where he continues as reserve driver while adding experience in endurance racing and Formula E, proving his adaptability across the top tiers of motorsport.

A new chapter in Formula E with Andretti

After conquering Formula 2 and building experience as a Formula 1 reserve, Felipe Drugovich turned his attention to Formula E. He first caught the paddock’s eye in rookie tests with Maserati, where his raw pace put him at the top of the timesheets. In 2025, the Brazilian stepped in at Mahindra for the Berlin E-Prix and immediately scored points on debut, handling the series’ unique demands with confidence. That performance, combined with Drugovich’s proven adaptability, paved the way to a Formula E full-time seat with Andretti for the 2025–26 season. The move marks a major step in his career, giving him the chance to fight at the sharp end of the electric world championship and establish himself as one of the category’s rising stars.

Andretti’s rise as a Formula E contender

Andretti joined Formula E at the series’ launch in 2014 and has been a constant presence ever since, evolving into one of the championship’s most competitive teams. Initially running customer powertrains, the outfit partnered with BMW from 2018 to 2021 before transitioning to Porsche units under the Avalanche Andretti banner. With Jake Dennis at the wheel, the team secured the 2023 drivers’ title, underlining its ability to compete at the front. Known for its strong operational base, close manufacturer ties and consistent presence in the paddock, Andretti has established itself as a key player in Formula E and continues to be a regular contender for podiums and wins.
