French driver Evan Giltare delivered a commanding performance in the second 2025 FRECA Collective Test at Monza. The ART Grand Prix driver topped the timesheets with a 1:43.653, mastering the fully dry “Temple of Speed” and confirming his strong recent form. Fresh from his podium at Hockenheim, Giltare’s pace reinforced his status as one of the weekend’s in-form contenders ahead of the decisive season finale.

Fine margins at the front

Moreover, Giltare’s benchmark lap placed him 0.197 seconds ahead of Freddie Slater of Prema Racing, who maintained his focus as the championship leader. Meanwhile, Taito Kato ensured a strong showing for ART Grand Prix by taking third, just 0.362 seconds adrift. Together, the trio showcased impressive precision and consistency, particularly through Monza’s high-speed corners where accuracy proved vital.

In addition, Rashid Al Dhaheri continued his upward trend by securing fourth for Prema, while Matteo De Palo took fifth for Trident Motorsport. Both drivers maintained excellent momentum, signalling they remain ready to challenge when the fight for the title intensifies.

Consistency across the midfield

Furthermore, Pedro Clerot of Van Amersfoort Racing continued his solid Monza form in sixth, following his morning session benchmark. Akshay Bohra of R-ace GP impressed with a tidy seventh, while Nikita Bedrin of Saintéloc Racing followed closely in eighth. In contrast, Jan Przyrowski of RPM claimed ninth, edging out Enzo Deligny of R-ace GP, who rounded out the top ten.

Notably, Deligny remains in mathematical contention for the Drivers’ Championship, though he faces an uphill task after mixed results across both sessions. Still, his late-session improvements suggested potential for stronger qualifying pace.

The Teams’ Championship battle also remains fiercely competitive. R-ace GP currently leads the standings; however, Prema Racing sits close behind. Therefore, both teams approach the Monza finale with equal determination to secure the season’s ultimate accolade. Additionally, ART Grand Prix’s double top-three finish in testing demonstrated that their late-season resurgence could still influence the final order.

Focus shifts to Qualifying

Looking ahead, attention now turns to the first qualifying session, scheduled for tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. and broadcast live on ACI Sport TV (Sky Channel 228) and the official FRECA YouTube channel. Consequently, with track conditions expected to remain stable, teams will rely heavily on the data gathered today to perfect their setups.
