Despite recent driver shifts, Grasser Racing Team has secured a surprise reunion of its Spa 24 Hours-winning line-up.

Winning trio set for return

Grasser Racing Team will reunite its victorious driver line-up from last year’s CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa, confirming that Mirko Bortolotti, Jordan Pepper, and Luca Engstler will return to defend their crown in 2026.

The trio delivered a landmark victory for Lamborghini, securing the brand’s first overall win at the Belgian endurance classic with Grasser Racing Team.

Team sources indicate that discussions to bring the drivers back together began shortly after their triumph, with a shared desire to build on their success and target back-to-back victories.

Chemistry behind the success

The trio’s victory at 24 Hours of Spa owed much to their strong working relationship and consistency across the full 24 hours.

Engstler previously highlighted the importance of continuity within the team, pointing to the mutual understanding between drivers and engineers as a key factor in their performance. That cohesion allowed the team to execute a near-flawless race, maintaining pace while avoiding costly mistakes.

Bortolotti also underlined the significance of the result, describing it as a historic achievement for both the team and Lamborghini, while Pepper emphasised the collective effort required to secure victory in one of GT racing’s most demanding events.

Overcoming driver market complications

The announcement comes despite recent developments that appeared to complicate any potential reunion.

Pepper’s move to BMW’s factory driver roster had raised questions over whether the South African would be able to return to the Lamborghini-backed effort for Spa. However, Grasser Racing Team has successfully negotiated an arrangement that allows him to rejoin the line-up for the event.

This agreement highlights the strength of the relationship between the drivers and the team, as well as their shared ambition to defend their title at all costs.

Eyes on back-to-back victory

With the same line-up returning, Grasser Racing Team will enter the 2026 edition as one of the clear favourites.

The combination of experience, proven pace, and established chemistry gives the team a strong foundation as it looks to repeat its historic success. Back-to-back victories at Spa would further cement both the team’s and Lamborghini’s status at the forefront of GT racing.

One small detail

Before pencilling them in as favourites for 2026, there is just one thing worth checking.

The date.

Happy April Fool’s Day. 😄
