Jaguar TCS Racing heads into the 2026 London E-Prix with both Formula E World Championships within reach as the team prepares for the final two races of the GEN3 era.
The British squad leads the Teams’ Championship by 14 points over Porsche, while Mitch Evans sits second in the Drivers’ standings, only two points behind Andretti’s Jake Dennis. António Félix da Costa also retains a mathematical chance of taking the Drivers’ crown from sixth.
London will carry additional significance for Jaguar. Evans will make his final two starts for the team after a decade together. Meanwhile, the squad can secure its second Teams’ World Championship in three seasons at its home event.
Evans targets one final title with Jaguar
Evans enters London with the clearest opportunity of his Formula E career to claim a maiden Drivers’ World Championship. The New Zealander sits just two points behind Dennis with two races remaining, leaving the title fight finely balanced heading into the ExCeL finale.
However, the weekend also marks the end of an era for Evans and Jaguar. After 10 years together, London will bring their partnership to a close.
During that period, Evans has taken more victories for Jaguar than any other driver and played a central role in the team’s rise into regular championship contention.
“It has been an incredible journey with Jaguar TCS Racing over the past 10 years, but we are hoping to write one more special chapter in London this weekend. There’s all to play for in the Drivers’ championship and it would be an incredible feeling to win that, while the opportunity to secure our second Teams’ world title at our home event gives us even more motivation heading into London.”
Therefore, Evans arrives with both personal and team objectives closely intertwined.
Jaguar holds advantage in Formula E Teams’ Championship ahead of London finale
While Evans fights Dennis for the Drivers’ crown, Jaguar carries a stronger position into the Teams’ Championship decider. The British manufacturer leads Porsche by 14 points and can secure its second Teams’ title in three seasons.
That position reflects Jaguar’s sustained success throughout the GEN3 era. The team has taken 18 victories across the four seasons of the current generation, more than any other Formula E outfit.
Now, two home races stand between Jaguar and another championship.
The ExCeL Circuit has also suited the team previously, giving Jaguar confidence that it can convert its points advantage into the title. However, the double-header format means the championship can change quickly, particularly with substantial points still available across qualifying and both races.
Da Costa retains outside title chance
Da Costa enters his first London finale with Jaguar still mathematically involved in the Drivers’ Championship. The Portuguese driver sits sixth in the standings and trails Dennis by 33 points. Nine drivers remain capable of winning the title, leaving several possible permutations across the two races.
Although da Costa faces a considerably larger deficit than Evans, he intends to attack the weekend while supporting Jaguar’s Teams’ Championship ambitions.
“It has been a great first season at Jaguar TCS Racing and there have been so many high points along the way. The team has always enjoyed a strong record at home and we are hoping for the same again this weekend.”
His contribution could prove particularly important even if his own title challenge fades during the weekend. Strong points from both cars would strengthen Jaguar’s position against Porsche and potentially influence the Drivers’ Championship battle around Evans.
Da Costa plans aggressive finish in London to debut Jaguar Formula E season
Da Costa has quickly become an important part of Jaguar’s championship challenge during his first campaign with the team. His sixth position keeps him among the nine mathematically eligible title contenders, while his results have helped Jaguar reach the finale at the top of the Teams’ standings.
With little margin for caution, he plans to maximise every opportunity in London.
“We are still in championship contention and so I will be going all out to end the season strongly to deliver the maximum out on track in London.”
That approach gives Jaguar two drivers with clear incentives to fight at the front. Evans needs every available point in his duel with Dennis, while da Costa can still influence both championships through his own result.
As a result, Jaguar enters the finale with significant pressure but also multiple routes to success.
Jaguar marks GEN3 success with two Guinness World Records
Jaguar has also celebrated the conclusion of the GEN3 era away from the circuit by setting two Guinness World Records ahead of its home race. In collaboration with title and technology partner Tata Consultancy Services, the team created the largest GPS drawing on foot.
A 29-runner relay completed a route of more than 100km through London, tracing the outline of the Jaguar I-TYPE 7.
Participants carried one GPS device in a baton-style relay, allowing organisers to maintain continuous route mapping and meet the required verification criteria. The design also represented Jaguar’s 18 Formula E victories during the GEN3 era.
In addition, Jaguar secured the record for the most participants in a racing simulator videogame relay, with 109 people taking part.
Both records give the team another way to mark an era in which it established itself as one of Formula E’s most successful competitors.
James targets fitting conclusion to record-breaking era
Team Principal Ian James believes Jaguar’s GEN3 record provides additional motivation heading into the finale. The team has already achieved more victories than any rival across the four-season generation, while its two Guinness World Records add a different dimension to that success.
“GEN3 has been a record-breaking era for the team, and what better way to mark it than by officially putting our name into the Guinness World Record books ahead of this weekend’s London E-Prix.”
However, Jaguar’s focus remains firmly on competition. The team can add two far more significant achievements to its GEN3 record if Evans secures the Drivers’ title and Jaguar protects its lead in the Teams’ standings.
Jaguar places full focus on Formula E championship double ahead of London finale
Jaguar has spent the season building towards a position where it can fight for both major championships at the final round. James believes the team now has the opportunity to turn that work into a fitting conclusion.
“Heading into our home event in strong contention for the Drivers’ and Teams’ World Championships is what we have been striving towards all season. And, whilst we know how strong the competition will be, we will do everything to support our bid for the Drivers’ title. In addition, delivering a second Teams’ World Championship in three seasons across a record-breaking era for the team in GEN3 would be a fitting finale.”
The title permutations ensure Jaguar cannot focus on only one side of the garage. Evans needs support in his fight against Dennis, while da Costa’s points could prove decisive in protecting the team’s championship advantage over Porsche. Execution across both cars will therefore remain crucial.
London layout offers final technical test
The ExCeL Circuit provides a distinctive challenge for Formula E’s final GEN3 races. Its indoor-outdoor configuration forces drivers to adapt to changing surfaces and grip levels, while its tight layout places a premium on track position and clean execution.
Jaguar has already demonstrated competitive pace at the venue, giving James confidence in the I-TYPE 7 package.
“I’m confident that the team will thrive under pressure, while we know from last year how competitive our Jaguar I-TYPE 7 can be around the unique London ExCel circuit.”
Rounds 16 and 17 will take place on 15 and 16 August, with both races scheduled to start at 15:05 BST. After four seasons of GEN3 competition, London will therefore decide whether Jaguar can finish the era with another championship celebration.
