Jasser Iskander will continue with Fox Motorsport for the inaugural GB4 Winter Series at Snetterton later this month, extending the partnership that guided him through his first season of single-seater racing.

The 15-year-old Saudi Arabian will partner rookie Rob Crawford as part of what Fox expects to be a multi-car entry for the four-race event on 24-25 October. Iskander’s confirmation gives him an immediate opportunity to build on the progress made throughout his maiden GB4 campaign with Fox Motorsport rather than waiting until the 2027 season to return to competitive action.

The inaugural GB4 Winter Series features two qualifying sessions and four races across a condensed two-day programme at Snetterton. For Iskander, the format provides another opportunity to develop in the Tatuus MSV GB4-025 after a rookie campaign that began only months after his transition from karting.

Iskander continues rapid progression from karting

Iskander’s motorsport career remains remarkably young. The Jeddah-born driver only began competing in rental karting during the middle of 2024 before stepping into the IAME KSA Junior Karting Championship four months later.

His progression accelerated quickly. After moving into Saudi Arabia’s leading junior karting competition, Iskander won the championship during his first full season in 2025 and immediately turned his attention towards cars.

That move brought him to Fox Motorsport and the GB4 Championship for 2026. Having started the year with comparatively little racing experience, Iskander faced the significant challenge of simultaneously learning single-seater machinery, unfamiliar British circuits and the demands of a full championship.

The season nevertheless produced several encouraging results. Iskander took a Rookie class podium on his racing debut at Silverstone in May, immediately giving him a positive start to life in the category.

His strongest weekend followed at Donington Park during the summer. Iskander secured his maiden Rookie victory while also recording a career-best seventh overall and his best qualifying result of 10th, demonstrating the progress made since his first tests with the Maldon-based team.

Winter Series provides chance to build on rookie season

Rather than viewing his first GB4 campaign solely through its results, Iskander believes the experience gained across the season has significantly improved his abilities as a driver. The Winter Series gives him a chance to apply those lessons almost immediately.

“I can’t wait to get back behind the wheel for the GB4 Winter Series,” Iskander said. “I’ve really enjoyed my first season in cars and while maybe we didn’t get some of the results that I thought we were capable of, the learning experience has been huge.”

His first year required constant adaptation. Beyond learning the characteristics of the GB4 car, Iskander faced a calendar containing circuits he had little or no previous experience of, while competing against drivers with considerably longer karting and car-racing backgrounds.

By the end of the season, however, the Saudi driver felt far more comfortable with both the car and the demands of single-seater competition.

“I feel like a much stronger driver now than when I started testing with Fox at the start of the year and my plan is to take all of that to Snetterton and achieve some really strong results.”

Previous Snetterton experience should help

The Winter Series also returns Iskander to a circuit he already knows from the main GB4 campaign. That familiarity should reduce one of the challenges he regularly faced during his rookie year and allow him to focus more heavily on extracting performance from the car.

Iskander completed extensive running at Snetterton when the championship visited the Norfolk circuit during the summer. He also took part in the pre-event testing programme, giving him a useful bank of data and experience before returning for the four-race winter contest.

The GB4 Winter Series format places additional pressure on drivers because each day contains a qualifying session and two 20-minute races. With four races compressed into a single weekend, mistakes or difficulties can quickly affect several results, but the structure also creates repeated opportunities for drivers to apply what they learn from one session to the next.

For Iskander, that intensity could prove particularly useful after a season built largely around development. The focus moves from simply accumulating experience towards turning that experience into stronger qualifying positions and race results.

McNeilly praises Iskander’s development

Fox Motorsport Team Principal Paul McNeilly has seen that progression throughout the year and believes Iskander enters the Winter Series as a significantly more complete driver than the youngster who first tested with the team.

“We’re very pleased to see Jasser continue with Fox Motorsport for the GB4 Winter Series,” McNeilly said. “He’s made a huge amount of progress since he began testing with us earlier this year and is barely recognisable as the same driver nowadays.”

The four-race structure presents a different challenge from the regular championship weekends, but McNeilly believes it can provide another valuable stage in Iskander’s development.

“The four-race format means things will be a bit more intense than normal, but it’s all part of the learning experience and I believe he’s capable of putting everything he’s learnt over the main season into practice and delivering his best results yet.”

That progress has been the central theme of Iskander’s first year in cars. He entered the 2026 GB4 season as one of the grid’s least experienced drivers, having made his competitive karting debut only a little over a year earlier. By the end of the campaign, he had accumulated a full season of single-seater experience and recorded both a Rookie victory and a top-seven overall finish.

Crawford joins Iskander at Fox Motorsport

Iskander will be joined at Snetterton by Crawford, who enters the Winter Series as a rookie. Fox intends to field multiple cars during the event, creating an opportunity for the team to combine Iskander’s full-season GB4 experience with drivers at an earlier stage of their own development.

The pairing also gives Iskander a different role within the team. Having spent much of 2026 as a newcomer himself, he now enters the Winter Series with seven championship rounds and 21 main-season races behind him, leaving him better placed to provide useful references within the Fox programme.

The Snetterton event will therefore serve two purposes. It offers Iskander an opportunity to end his first year of car racing with stronger results while also giving Fox further running as attention gradually begins to turn towards 2027.

For a driver whose transition from rental karting to single-seaters has taken place in little more than two years, another competitive weekend provides valuable additional mileage. Iskander now wants to convert the progress demonstrated during his rookie campaign into results when GB4 returns to Snetterton later this month.
