Arvid Lindblad has been recognized with the Aramco Best Performance Award following an impressive first and only season in the 2025 FIA Formula 2 Championship.

The Junior Red Bull Team Driver joined Formula 2 with Campos Racing after a strong season in the 2024 FIA Formula 3 Championship with PREMA Racing, where he finished 4th in the drivers’ standings. Now, in his debut Formula 2 campaign, Lindblad secured sixth place in the standings with 134 points, including one Feature Race win and two Sprint Race victories.

His win in the Jeddah Sprint made him the youngest winner in Formula 2 history at just 17 years old. Later in the season, Lindblad claimed his first P1 in the Barcelona Feature Race, before closing out the season with another Sprint Race victory in Abu Dhabi, where he led the field from reverse-grid pole position.

Another record-breaking debut

Lindblad received the Aramco Best Performance Award at the FIA Formula 2 and 3 Prize Giving Ceremony. There, he also reflected on becoming the youngest F2 race winner, having achieved the same result in F3.

“It was pretty special, it was nice to get the record in F2 like I did in F3,” he said.

“I was just happy to win the race though. It was a lot of fun, around an amazing track and the Campos guys gave me an amazing car. So it’s nice to have that record, but again, I was just happy with a win.”

Eyes on 2026

At just 18 years of age, Lindblad will join Formula 1 in 2026, driving for the Racing Bulls team alongside Liam Lawson. The Brit will become the youngest driver on the 2026 Formula 1 grid.

Looking ahead to his future, Lindblad shared: “I’m very excited for what comes next. When I started this journey out at five, my goal was to become a Formula 1 driver. For that to come true at such a young age, I’m extremely happy.”

“It’s all come very quick, so I’ve got a lot to learn, it’s going to be difficult but I’m super looking forward to it.”
