Attention turned to Miami following a standout showing at the Formula E Mexico City E-Prix, with Mahindra arriving on the back of strong momentum. It had fought wheel-to-wheel for victory with the Mahindra M12Electro, and converted that pace into a podium finish in Formula E’s landmark 150th race. The Miami International Autodrome, yet to host an E-Prix, offered a fresh challenge and contrasting levels of familiarity across the driver line-up. Edoardo Mortara faced the weekend with no prior running at the venue, while Nyck de Vries held a slight edge, having taken part in Formula E’s Evo Sessions and raced the circuit’s Formula 1 layout in 2023.
Confidence high as De Vries targets strong points haul in Miami
De Vries struck an optimistic tone as preparations continued, pointing to the strong pace the team had displayed across the opening rounds of the season. He believed that form could be translated into performance at a venue he described as distinctive and exciting. While he acknowledged that any previous knowledge of the circuit in Miami might offer only limited value given the unique demands of Formula E, he was determined to extract every possible advantage on track and was eager to get underway, with the clear aim of delivering another healthy points return for Mahindra.
“As a team, we have shown a lot of pace so far this season, and I am confident that we will be able to make the most of it here at this really cool venue.”
“It’s difficult to say how beneficial my previous experience of the track here will be, especially with the unique nature of FIA Formula E racing, but I will look to maximise everything on the track here. I am excited to get going and to hopefully bring home some good points for the team.”
New challenge awaits as Mortara embraces Miami learning curve
Mortara echoed the positive mood within the team, reflecting on a season that had begun with encouraging performance and a clear desire to sustain that momentum. With Miami representing completely new territory for both driver and team, he anticipated a steep learning curve as the weekend unfolded. Mortara was intrigued by the character of the circuit and welcomed the prospect of racing around the Hard Rock Stadium, viewing the setting as a special occasion that underlined Formula E’s growing stature and its ability to compete on some of the world’s most iconic sporting stages.
“It has been a good start to the season in terms of performance and we want that to continue. This is a new track for me, and we have never raced here in the past, so there is a lot to learn as the weekend progresses.”
“It looks like an interesting circuit, and racing around the Hard Rock Stadium is going to be a great experience. Having FIA Formula E race at one of sport’s most iconic venues is great for the championship and highlights the strength of it.”
Bertrand highlights Miami stage as Mahindra targets consistency in Formula E
Anticipation was high within the team ahead of Formula E’s first race at the Miami venue, with Team Principal and CEO Frederic Bertrand highlighting it as a fitting and high-profile stage for the championship. He pointed to the encouraging level of performance shown so far this season and underlined the focus on turning that potential into more consistent results. At the same time, Bertrand recognised the series’ trademark unpredictability, stressing that with the grid so closely matched, the course of the weekend remained difficult to predict.
“We are really looking forward to the first E-Prix around this great venue. It is a wonderful place to have FIA Formula E to race at and we cannot wait to put on a real show for the fans.”
“So far this season, our performance has been positive and we will be looking to translate into more consistent finishes to reflect this. However, as ever with FIA Formula E, it is always a challenge to predict what will happen in the weekend, especially with all of the teams so close in terms of competitiveness.”

Chambers set for Miami run-out in Formula E Rookie Free Practice with Mahindra
Enthusiasm was clear as Chloe Chambers prepared to return to a Formula E car with Mahindra Racing for Friday’s Rookie Free Practice in Miami, following an impressive showing during the Women’s Test last season. She drew confidence from her familiarity with Miami, a city and circuit she knew well from previous racing, while also embracing the opportunity to experience her first FIA Formula E race weekend from within a competitive team environment. With a strong focus on learning and understanding how the team operated across a race weekend, Chambers approached the session eager to build knowledge, contribute on track and enjoy another positive run-out with the team.
“I can’t wait to be back in the Formula E car with Mahindra Racing after a really good performance during the Women’s Test last year.”
“Miami is a city and track that I know well from racing there in the past. I am also excited to attend my first FIA Formula E race weekend and just learn as much as I can about the series and how the team operates on a race weekend. I really enjoyed my last time with the team, so looking to have some more fun again in Miami.”
