Pit Debrief caught up with Jaguar’s Mitch Evans, at the 2025 London E-Prix, who heads into the final double-header of the season on the back of an emphatic victory in Berlin.
The Kiwi driver stunned the field at the wet Berlin E-Prix with a commanding lights-to-flag performance in Race 1—his second win of the season—snapping a six-month streak without points and reminding everyone of the racecraft and resolve that have long defined his Formula E career. Now continuing with the momentum, Evans will start Race 1 of the London E-Prix in pole position, after a strong Qualifying performance.
A “difficult” season for Evans
“I mean overall it’s been a really strange, difficult season for me,” Evans admitted. “Hopefully Berlin’s been a turning point towards next year. This year—so this weekend—we’re still going to try and keep finding performance to make sure we hit the ground running next year.”
Evans’ triumph came after a run plagued by reliability issues and misfortune, derailing what many expected to be a title-contending campaign. Asked what shifted in Berlin, he credited continued work behind the scenes.
“A lot of things this year have made the season bad in terms of being caught up in things, reliability, performance,” he said. “I think a lot of things we can fix, but the performance stuff we just need to try and keep working on, which I’m doing this weekend. Keep trying to find a different performance window for our car, which will then help next season.”

Evans reflects on his performance with Jaguar ahead of London E-Prix
With two races left in London, Evans reflected candidly on his own performance across the season.
“My own performance? Hard to say. I think I’ve had two wins, which is good, but nothing in between really,” he said. “Is that down to me or other factors? It’s kind of hard to judge how my own performance has been. Just in general, it’s been a really tough season for a lot of different reasons. Very unexpected, especially off the back of the last few seasons and off the back of São Paulo.”
Despite the setbacks, Evans has taken valuable insight from the year’s challenges.
“You’re always learning,” he noted. “This season has definitely thrown a lot of new challenges at myself, but also the team. So, a lot to learn from that. We hope to tidy up a few things to make sure we continue to improve in all the areas. It’s been a lot of learnings, personally, just to try to deal with this unexpected season.”
Who will take the second Jaguar seat?
Looking ahead to Season 12, Evans remains with Jaguar but will welcome a new teammate and work under a restructured leadership. While details remain under wraps, he expressed confidence in the direction the team is heading.
“With the team, I think it’s not much changed. Obviously, I’m going to have a different boss. We’ll have to see how that goes,” he said. “Teammate, I don’t know who that’s going to be yet, so it’s hard to judge that as well. I’m sure the team will do their best to find the right guy to be beside me. I’ll continue to push the team like Nick has done.”
“Generally, the core of the team will stay the same. Same mission, same motivation, same goals. Obviously, some key changes. We’ll have to use the off-season to get used to it. I’m looking forward to that.”
