Current F1 World Champion Lando Norris has agreed a new deal with McLaren to stay at the Woking-based squad until the end of 2030.
The 26-year-old joined the team in 2017 as a Development Driver. He would go on to make his F1 debut at the 2019 Australian Grand Prix, impressively securing P8 on the grid. His first points came with a 6th in Bahrain in Round 2.
A Red Bull Ring specialist, the driver of car #4 outside World Champion years bagged his first podium in Austria in 2020. His first pole came at Sochi a year later, although heartbreak followed in the race as he slid off on dry tyres on a wet track, losing the win.
Following near misses and plenty of great performances in midfield cars, the 2025 F1 World Champion finally won his first race at Miami in 2024. A year later, he won the ultimate prize in Abu Dhabi despite a very tough campaign where he failed to gel with the car throughout most of it.
Lando Norris has been a standout driver in 2026, delivering two superb wins at Hungary and Zandvoort, with the driving confidence of a F1 World Champion on full display.
The new deal through to 2030 will take Lando Norris’ stay at McLaren F1 to at least 11 years.
