Although PREMA Racing left the 2025 Spielberg F3 Round without a podium trophy, Team Principal René Rosin expressed clear satisfaction with the team’s performance across Round 6 of the 2025 F3 Championship. With two of their three drivers qualifying inside the top 12 and a potential podium finish on Saturday, Rosin praised the collective effort that brought the Italian squad closer to the front of the field.

“Honestly, I think we have done – credit to the team with the drivers and the engineers working together,” said Rosin. “We bounced back into a position where we know we want to be.”

Sprint success and Feature potential

PREMA’s highlight of the weekend came during the Sprint Race, where Ugo Ugochukwu crossed the line in third place. Although he was later demoted following a track limits infringement, the American had shown front-running pace throughout. In the Feature Race, Ugochukwu again showed competitiveness, narrowly missing the podium and finishing in the points.

Rosin emphasised the positives, despite the Sprint penalty altering their final result.

“We were fighting for the top positions in Qualifying, nearly finished with all three cars in the top 12. We were fighting for the podium in the Sprint but had the overtake outside of track limits which compromised us. In the Feature, a points finish that could have had a podium. Some moves maybe were not the best to make but still, a really good bounce back in terms of performance.”

Steady climb back into contention

Following a challenging start to the 2025 F3 season, PREMA arrived in Austria for the Spielberg Round with just eight points. By the end of the Spielberg weekend, they had more than doubled their total, marking their best scoring round since Imola. Rosin regarded that previous round as the turning point for the team, a sign that their renewed focus and collaboration were beginning to bear fruit.

“All three cars were competitive, had good pace over the weekend, we just need to build it up going into Silverstone now.”

He further added: “We have been working quite hard over the last period. Imola, I saw some light at the end of the tunnel. There have been some difficult weekends since the beginning of the season, but I was sure that altogether we could do a great job with the drivers and engineers. This weekend has now proved we are going in the right direction, we just need to continue working and continue pushing like we always have, and the results will come soon.”

Rookies continue to grow as season progresses

The 2025 Spielberg F3 Round also offered concrete signs of progress for PREMA’s rookie drivers. Ugochukwu’s provisional third place on Saturday marked his best finish to date, while Brando Badoer achieved his highest qualifying result in F3, securing ninth on the grid. Although Noel León narrowly missed out on a top 12 slot by just 0.033s, Rosin remained encouraged by all three drivers’ continued development.

“Both of them could have fought for the podium,” said Rosin of Ugochukwu and Badoer. “I was already happy with their performance on Friday. We just need to continue working like we are doing. Do not look in the past, concentrate race-by-race and do the best job possible, and I am sure everything will get back to the position where we deserve.”

Looking ahead to Silverstone

With momentum beginning to swing back in PREMA Racing’s favour, all eyes now turn to Silverstone. Rosin made clear that internal belief is growing, backed by increasingly competitive form and the hard work of drivers and engineers alike.
