As the Formula 3 season reached its midpoint, Martinius Stenshorne and Hitech TGR are doubling down on preparations for one of the most iconic and unpredictable weekends on the calendar – the British GP.

Currently sittimg 4th in the championship, Stenshorne has already shown significant progress compared to his position last year. While consistency has improved, only a fully competitive package could put the Norwegian in contention for the title.

Known for its demanding high-speed corners and ever-changing weather, Silverstone presents both a technical challenge and a chance for redemption. After a season of highs and lows, Stenshorne hopes to turn things around, leaving no stone unturned.

Intense preparation ahead of F3 British GP round

Ahead of the F3 British GP event, Stenshorne is fully immersed in race preparation, taking full advantage of Hitech’s resources.

Stenshorne focused not only to simulation laps but also to historical footage and data, as he told Pit Debrief and other media outlets.

“Yeah, we came back from Red Bull Ring on Sunday and then some sim prep on Monday afternoon. And of course, our sim is not so far from the track, so we did that bit this morning as well.

“And apart from that, just analysing the previous year’s data and watching the race on boards and the broadcast to know everything.”

Prepared for classic Silverstone and British weather

The British GP is notorious for its unpredictable weather, and forecasts suggest another mixed weekend ahead. For many drivers, this can add stress and uncertainty – but seemingly not for Stenshorne.

“Yeah, it’s quite fun, of course, to drive in the rain, bring some new challenges to the track and everything. So we’re prepared for everything. You know, when it comes to Silverstone, you need to be prepared for every kind of weather.

“So we’re ready for that. So hopefully we can we can have a good one in both conditions if that appear.”

Reflecting on a mixed season so far

While scoring a Sprint Race pole in Monaco and an impressive comeback in Austria — where Stenshorne recovered from P15 on the grid to finish second before being promoted to first following Tsolov’s demotion — there’s no denying that things haven’t gone to plan. Indeed, the struggles in Barcelona remain a vivid reminder of the team’s ongoing inconsistencies.

When asked by Pit Debrief about his performance so far this season, Stenshorne didn’t shy away from a candid assessment. With the season halfway done, Stenshorne was honest and recognized areas for growth and improvement for Hitech and himself.

“Yeah, it’s not been the exact start of the season we wanted. We’ve been struggling with a couple of things in both long run and short run.

“We’ve been good sometimes, like last weekend, for example. But then we had other weekends that was very poor, like Barcelona, for example.

“So I wouldn’t rate it too high, but hopefully we can come back for the rest of the season.”

Building towards more consistency

While the start of the season has been inconsistent, recent performances hint at progress. Stenshorne remains confident in the quality of his own drives – even when the car hasn’t fully supported his efforts. With continued development from Hitech – in qualifying pace and race-day consistency – and consistent execution, the Norwegian driver could turn his season around.

“Yes, consistency has been lacking a few times. I think I’ve done a good job in many races as well. Not always we’ve had the best package to be fighting for it [wins], to be honest.

“In Barcelona, we had a very good start, for example, and we just about finished on the points. But yeah, overall, I think we just have to keep improving on both our short-run pace and long-run pace and I think the consistency will get there after that.”

Embracing the Silverstone atmosphere

Silverstone continues to be one of the sport’s most iconic venues, and this weekend is no exception. The McLaren backed junior has acknowledged the strong fan support and the atmosphere that comes with racing in the UK.

“Yeah, it’s always nice to have a bit of support from the fans, seeing all the Papaya fans are on the track. I was in London yesterday for the fan event at McLaren and there was already quite a few people there, so hopefully we will see many more this weekend.”

As Stenshorne heads into the British GP, he does so acknowledging the struggles, but firmly focused on improvement. With thorough preparation, a calm approach to the unpredictable Silverstone weather, and a desire to finish the season on a high, Stenshorne and Hitech TGR are positioning themselves for a potential comeback.
