Team WRT has revealed the latest heritage livery for its No. 69 BMW M4 GT3 EVO ahead of the FIA World Endurance Championship’s Lone Star Le Mans at Circuit of The Americas (COTA).
Anthony McIntosh, Parker Thompson and BMW factory driver Dan Harper will race with a white and red design inspired by the BMW E9 3.0 CSL Levi’s car from the 1970s. The appearance continues a season-long programme that has given the No. 69 a different retro-inspired livery at every WEC round.
The trio heads to COTA fifth in the LMGT3 Drivers’ standings, while the No. 69 Team WRT entry sits third in the Teams’ order behind the No. 33 TF Sport Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R and No. 91 Manthey Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R Evo.
Levi’s BMW provides inspiration for COTA
The latest design draws from one of BMW’s distinctive touring car liveries of the 1970s.
The BMW E9 3.0 CSL that carried Levi’s branding competed in the European Touring Car Championship and German competition, using the American clothing company’s recognisable red and white colours. Team WRT has now reinterpreted that scheme for the current-generation BMW M4 GT3 EVO.
Rather than reproducing the original car directly, the No. 69 continues the broader concept behind McIntosh’s 2026 WEC programme by taking inspiration from different chapters of BMW’s motorsport history.
That approach has made the car visually distinctive throughout the season, with each round introducing another design linked to the manufacturer’s racing past.
Heritage theme continues through 2026
Team WRT has used the No. 69 entry to celebrate several significant BMW racing cars during the current campaign.
At Le Mans, the M4 GT3 EVO carried a design honouring the BMW-powered McLaren F1 GTR that won the 24 Hours in 1995. Team WRT confirmed earlier in the season that each WEC round would feature a different retro-inspired livery.
The COTA scheme therefore adds another chapter to that project, this time moving away from BMW’s endurance history and towards its touring car heritage.
The modern car retains the No. 69 and the same driver line-up of McIntosh, Thompson and Harper, who have shared the entry throughout the season.
Team WRT remains in LMGT3 title contention
The heritage design arrives with Team WRT still involved in the LMGT3 championship fight.
McIntosh, Thompson and Harper currently occupy fifth in the Drivers’ standings, while the No. 69 remains third in the Teams’ classification. That keeps the BMW crew within reach of the leading TF Sport and Manthey Racing entries as the championship enters its final stages.
The crew has already shown its potential in 2026, including victory at Imola earlier in the campaign. However, subsequent rounds have produced more mixed results, including retirement from the 24 Hours of Le Mans with gearbox trouble.
COTA now provides another opportunity for Team WRT to strengthen its championship position while continuing one of the more distinctive visual programmes on the 2026 WEC grid.
The Lone Star Le Mans takes place at Circuit of The Americas next weekend, with the No. 69 BMW carrying its latest tribute to the marque’s racing past.
