Campos Racing have confirmed Ugo Ugochukwu as their final driver for the 2026 FIA F3 season. The American will partner Théophile Nael and Ernesto Riviera, completing the reigning Teams’ Champions’ line-up for the new campaign. The 18-year-old returns for a second season in F3 after his rookie year with Prema, where he secured two podiums and finished 16th overall in the Drivers’ Championship. With a full season of experience behind him, Ugochukwu is targeting stronger results in 2026.
From junior success to F3
Ugochukwu has steadily built an impressive record in the junior categories. In 2023, he became the first-ever Euro 4 Champion and was runner-up in the Italian F4 Championship. The following year, he competed in Formula Regional, finishing third in the Middle East Championship and taking a race win at the European season finale in Monza. Later in 2024, he made history by winning the Macau Grand Prix, becoming the first American to do so in over four decades.
He stepped into F3 in 2025 with Prema, where he showed flashes of speed and race craft, most notably with podiums at Spa and Budapest. Although he finished 16th in the standings, his steady improvement established him as a strong prospect for future seasons.
Excitement for a new chapter
Looking ahead to 2026, Ugochukwu expressed enthusiasm about joining Campos Racing and the opportunity to fight with a proven front-running team.
“I’m really excited to be joining Campos Racing for the 2026 FIA Formula 3 season,” said Ugochukwu. “It will be my second year in the category, so I’ll bring more experience with me. The team comes from winning the Teams’ title last season, so I know I’ll be in a very strong environment. I’m confident that together we can achieve great results in the upcoming season.”
Team Principal Adrián Campos welcomed the American driver, praising both his track record and his potential.
“We are thrilled to welcome Ugo on board for next season. Alongside Théophile and Ernesto, we have been able to build a very strong line-up. Despite his young age, Ugo already brings valuable experience and an impressive record both in karting and single-seaters, which speaks volumes about his capabilities for the future. We are eager to start this new chapter together and see what we can achieve.”
Looking ahead to a title defence
Campos Racing enter 2026 determined to defend their Teams’ Championship, and with Ugochukwu on board, they add a driver who has already demonstrated the ability to fight for podiums. For Ugochukwu, the season represents a crucial step in his development: a chance to combine experience with the resources of a championship-winning outfit and prove himself as a consistent frontrunner in F3.
