As reported by Sportscar365, Konrad Motorsport has confirmed a strengthened programme for this year’s Nürburgring 24 Hours after securing additional factory support from Lamborghini.

The German team will field a Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2 at the Nordschleife endurance classic. The car will be driven by Lamborghini factory drivers Christian Engelhart and Maximilian Paul alongside Nordschleife specialist Pavel Lefterov.

With a blend of factory backing and Nürburgring experience, Konrad Motorsport aims to deliver a competitive performance in the demanding 24-hour race.

Christian Engelhart will return to Konrad Motorsport for the Nürburgring 24, renewing a partnership that dates back more than a decade.

The Lamborghini works driver previously raced for the team during his Porsche Supercup campaign in 2011. Since then, Engelhart has built an extensive GT racing career and continues to compete at the highest level. Last year he finished fourth overall in the Nürburgring 24 as part of ABT’s Lamborghini Huracán GT3 crew, further underlining his strength on the Nordschleife.

Meanwhile, Maximilian Paul continues his relationship with the team after competing in Konrad’s Nürburgring 24 programme for the past two years.

Paul has already delivered consistent results for Konrad Motorsport in recent editions of the race. Over the past two years, he secured third place in the SP9 Pro-Am class on both occasions while driving for the team. His familiarity with the team and the Nürburgring should provide a solid foundation for this year’s challenge.

Finally, Pavel Lefterov will complete the three-driver line-up. The Bulgarian driver already has established links with Konrad Motorsport. He competed in last year’s Nürburgring 24 with the team and also enjoyed significant success in prototype racing. In 2025, Lefterov claimed the Prototype Cup Germany title with Konrad Motorsport while driving a Ligier JS P320 Nissan, highlighting the strong working relationship between driver and team.

Team boss Franz Konrad expressed strong confidence in the squad’s driver combination and welcomed Lamborghini’s increased support.

“I’m very pleased that we’re working more closely with Lamborghini again,” said team boss Franz Konrad. “I’m really proud of our driver lineup. We’ve known each other for years and, in my opinion, we can finish in the top three. But anyone who knows me knows that I always want to win.”

NLS preparation begins

Preparation for the Nürburgring 24 will begin immediately in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie.

Paul and Engelhart will compete in the opening round of the championship this weekend driving a Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO. After that event, the team will transition to the newer Huracán GT3 EVO2 specification for the remainder of its programme.

Through this preparation, Konrad Motorsport aims to build momentum ahead of the Nürburgring 24 and maximise its chances of achieving a strong result at the iconic endurance race.
