Team Motopark has confirmed the driver line-up for its #71 Mercedes-AMG entry in the 2026 International GT Open, pairing rising talent Christian Mansell with seasoned GT racer Maximilian Götz. The Oschersleben-based squad will field the green-and-black, Boll-backed car with high expectations following a successful previous season.
This announcement strengthens Motopark’s ambitions, as the team blends youth and experience in pursuit of further success.
Mansell returns to international competition and Götz adds proven GT pedigree
Mansell makes his return to international racing after a brief hiatus in 2025. The 21-year-old from Melbourne brings an impressive single-seater résumé, having climbed the ranks to FIA Formula 2 after standout performances in FIA Formula 3 and GB3.
Moreover, he secured third place in the Euroformula Open Championship in 2022, underlining his consistency and adaptability. Now transitioning back into GT competition, Mansell will look to translate his single-seater pedigree into endurance racing success.
Alongside him, Götz offers a wealth of experience and a proven track record at the highest level of GT racing. The 40-year-old German has previously claimed titles in both DTM and the Blancpain GT Sprint Series, in addition to securing victory at the prestigious Spa 24 Hours.
Furthermore, Götz played a crucial role in supporting Levi Révész and Team Motopark in their run to both the GT Open Drivers’ and Teams’ titles last season. His familiarity with the team and championship will be invaluable as the duo aims to remain competitive throughout the 2026 campaign.
Team Motopark adopts a balanced approach for 2026 International GT Open campaign
By combining Mansell’s youthful pace with Götz’s experience and racecraft, Team Motopark has assembled a well-balanced line-up for its #71 Mercedes-AMG. As a result, the team appears well-positioned to build on its previous achievements.
Looking ahead, consistency and collaboration will be key. If the pairing can quickly develop strong chemistry, Motopark could once again be a serious contender in the International GT Open.
