Turner Motorsport secured its first victory of the 2026 GTWC America season with a composed and determined performance at Sebring International Raceway. Robby Foley and Justin Rothberg delivered the breakthrough result in Round 3, claiming their first win in the Pro class aboard the No. 29 BMW M4 GT3 EVO.

The Florida circuit produced another demanding three-hour contest, with intense heat, heavy bumps, and late-race drama shaping the outcome. Turner Motorsport kept itself in contention throughout the race before capitalising when the leader suffered mechanical trouble with 45 minutes remaining.

From there, Foley controlled the final restart and pulled clear during a 22-minute sprint to the flag. As a result, the No. 29 BMW crossed the line more than eight seconds ahead, giving Turner Motorsport an important early-season boost.

Rothberg opens the race from third

Rothberg started the No. 29 BMW M4 GT3 EVO from third on the grid and immediately faced one of the toughest challenges on the GT World Challenge America calendar. Sebring’s bumps and Florida heat placed constant pressure on both car and driver, particularly during the opening half of the three-hour race.

Nevertheless, Rothberg kept the Turner Motorsport entry firmly in the lead fight. By maintaining a strong rhythm and protecting the car through his stint, he placed Foley in position to attack once the driver change sequence unfolded.

That clean opening effort proved crucial. Instead of chasing recovery, Turner Motorsport entered the second half of the race with the pace and track position required to fight for victory.

Foley charges into contention

Foley took over the No. 29 BMW in the second stint and quickly increased the pressure. He immediately began hunting the cars ahead and soon completed the move into second place.

As the Sebring sun started to set, Foley continued to make progress and kept the Turner Motorsport BMW within range of the lead. Then, with 45 minutes remaining, the race leader suffered a mechanical issue, handing Foley the top spot.

However, the victory still required one final execution under pressure. A late restart created a 22-minute sprint to the finish, yet Foley responded decisively. Once his tyres came in, he pulled away from the field and sealed Turner Motorsport’s first overall and Pro class victory of the season.

“We had an awesome day here at Sebring to get our first win in the Pro class and first overall win of the year. It was a great day, and the guys worked really hard to give us a good LATICRETE BMW in the heat, which was tricky, honestly.

“The track has been hot all week, and hot outside, so we’ve been focusing on trying to keep the tires under us for the duration of the race, and I think we did that really well today. It made the last restart a little bit tricky until my front tires came in, but once they did, we could set sail. But awesome result, and thanks to the team and Justin for a great weekend.”

Rothberg celebrates first Pro class success

For Rothberg, the Sebring win marked a major milestone in his Pro class campaign. Although the No. 34 rival entry had led before its late mechanical issue, Turner Motorsport had already placed itself in position to benefit through pace, execution, and consistency.

The victory also carried extra meaning for Rothberg, who celebrated the achievement with family trackside. Consequently, the result gave the team both a points boost and an emotional reward for its work in punishing conditions.

“It feels amazing getting our first win in the Pro class here at Sebring. The team gave us an amazing LATICRETE BMW M4 Sebring is a brutal track, and add in 100-degree temperatures, it feels like a really good accomplishment.

“The 34 ran a great race, and you always hate for someone to go out like that, that that’s racing, and I’m proud of the work we put in to be in a spot to benefit. I hope to earn the win fighting with them later this season. But overall, really great feeling. It’s even more special that my parents, grandmother, and dog Lola were here to see it – I couldn’t do any of this without them.”

Turner Motorsport shifts focus to Road Atlanta

Following its Sebring breakthrough, Turner Motorsport now turns its attention to the next GT World Challenge America round at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta in Braselton, Georgia, from 11–14 June.

With Foley and Rothberg now proven race winners in the Pro class, the No. 29 BMW M4 GT3 EVO crew will aim to carry its Sebring momentum into the next phase of the 2026 season.
