Iron Lynx has unveiled three distinctive Mercedes-AMG LMGT3 liveries for the 2026 24 Hours of Le Mans, continuing the revival of the legendary Silver Arrows identity at endurance racing’s most prestigious event. The Italian outfit will once again field three entries in the iconic French race, which forms Round 3 of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) campaign on 10-14 June.

Mercedes-AMG returned to La Sarthe last year for the first time in more than 25 years, and the famous silver theme immediately captured attention throughout the paddock. Now, Iron Lynx has introduced fresh visual identities for each car while maintaining the marque’s historic connection to Le Mans.

Distinct designs define the Iron Lynx 2026 Le Mans line-up

Iron Lynx has given each Mercedes-AMG LMGT3 entry its own character for this year’s event. The #61 machine, driven by Martin Berry, Rui Andrade and Mercedes-AMG Performance Driver Maxime Martin, carries a darker and more aggressive design with a black rear section.

Meanwhile, the #79 car features vibrant yellow accents to create a brighter appearance. Johannes Zelger, Matteo Cressoni and Mercedes-AMG Junior Driver Lin Hodenius will share driving duties in that entry.

Alongside the two FIA WEC regulars, Iron Lynx will also field a third Mercedes-AMG LMGT3 under the Team Qatar banner. The #62 car proudly displays the colours of the Qatari flag as the Middle Eastern nation prepares for its first appearance at Le Mans.

Andrea Piccini, Iron Lynx Team Principal and CEO, welcomed the continuation of the Silver Arrows story while highlighting the individuality of the three cars.

“It’s a great pleasure for us to bring the Silver Arrows back to the 24 Hours of Le Mans for the second consecutive year. “I particularly like that we are doing it by featuring three distinct personalities. We are also delighted to partner with Team Qatar. The first time at Le Mans is always unique, and I really hope it will be an unforgettable experience.”

Mercedes-AMG builds on historic legacy

The silver colour scheme remains deeply linked to Mercedes’ Le Mans heritage. The Stuttgart manufacturer secured famous victories at the Circuit de la Sarthe in both 1952 and 1989, achieving one-two finishes on each occasion.

Last year’s return marked a major milestone for Mercedes-AMG Motorsport. Two of the three Iron Lynx-run entries reached the finish in the LMGT3 category, taking 12th and 15th positions respectively. Consequently, the team now aims to transform that experience into a stronger result in 2026.

Stefan Wendl, Head of Customer Racing for Mercedes-AMG Motorsport, stressed the significance of Le Mans within the brand’s racing history.

“I’m very pleased to see three Mercedes-AMG LMGT3 cars once again on the grid for this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans. Continuing the story of the Silver Arrows in 2026 through the liveries of all three cars, following our debut last year, underlines the special significance this race holds within our motorsport heritage. Building upon the experience gained last year, we are aiming to confirm our sporting progress with a strong result.”

Team Qatar targets landmark debut

Team Qatar’s entry adds another significant dimension to Iron Lynx’s Le Mans programme. The collaboration between Iron Lynx and the Qatar Motor & Motorcycle Federation has already delivered success in the European Le Mans Series and the 24H Series.

The #62 line-up features Abdulla Al Khelaifi, who has already claimed LMGT3 pole positions in both ELMS races this season. He will race alongside full-time team-mate Julian Hanses and Giuliano Alesi, son of former Formula 1 star Jean Alesi.

Furthermore, Team Qatar arrives at Le Mans with growing confidence after securing class victories in the 24H Dubai, 6H Abu Dhabi and 12H Mugello.

Abdulrahman bin Abdullatif Al Mannai, President of both QMMF and Lusail International Circuit, described the project as a major step forward for Qatari motorsport.

“Team Qatar’s participation in the 24 Hours of Le Mans is an important moment for Qatari motorsport and reflects the country’s growing presence on the international stage,” commented Abdulrahman bin Abdullatif Al Mannai, President of both QMMF and Lusail International Circuit.

“This programme is about more than participating in a race – it represents a long-term investment in developing racing talent, building international experience and creating a pathway for future generations to compete at the highest level of motorsport.

“Through our partnership with Iron Lynx and collaboration with Mercedes-AMG, we are creating opportunities to learn, grow and establish a stronger foundation for Qatar in global endurance racing. We are proud to see Team Qatar compete in one of motorsport’s most iconic events and look forward to what this journey can achieve.”

Liveries debut through Le Mans ultimate

Iron Lynx revealed the three liveries in partnership with Le Mans Ultimate, the official game of the FIA World Endurance Championship and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Players will soon gain access to the special designs for in-game use, extending the Silver Arrows revival beyond the racetrack.

As anticipation builds for the 2026 edition of the endurance classic, Iron Lynx and Mercedes-AMG now look to combine heritage, fresh ambition and international collaboration in pursuit of success at La Sarthe.
