Rui-Heng “Enzo” Yeh produced a commanding weekend at Spa-Francorchamps, winning all three Euroformula Open races and strengthening his grip on the 2026 championship.
The Team Motopark driver arrived in Belgium as the early points leader after a strong opening round at Portimão. However, Spa presented a very different challenge, with changing weather, wet sessions, drying conditions, safety car interruptions and strategic tyre calls shaping one of the most unpredictable weekends of the season.
Nevertheless, Yeh adapted best. He secured pole position, controlled Race 1, charged through in Race 2, and then completed a remarkable hat-trick in Race 3. As a result, he now leads the standings with 138 points, 49 clear of teammate Diego de la Torre.
2026 Euroformula Open: Round 2: Spa-Francorchamps: Free Practice
To begin with, typical Spa weather greeted the field on Friday. Overcast skies, light rain, sunshine and cold conditions all featured during the two free practice sessions, forcing teams to adapt quickly.
In Free Practice 1, held on a wet track after earlier storms, Diego de la Torre led a Team Motopark top three. The Mexican set a 2:25.130, finishing 1.227s ahead of Yeh, while Everett Stack completed the top three. Alessandro Famularo led BVM Racing’s challenge in fourth.
Meanwhile, the afternoon session brought a very different order. Although the official result still listed the track as wet, lap times dropped dramatically, and Drivex made an immediate impression on its return to the championship. Filippo Fiorentino topped Free Practice 2 with a 2:10.819, just 0.099s ahead of teammate Genaro Trappa. Javier Herrera followed only 0.128s off the pace for BVM Racing, while Alceu Feldmann completed a South American top four.
Local driver Aaron Ferrazzano endured a difficult day for Neri Autosport. The Belgian struggled to find the right set-up and ended FP1 14th before improving slightly but remaining 14th again in FP2.

Stack placed third to make it a Motopark top three, while Jan Koller impressed as the fastest rookie in fourth. Herrera, who had led the early part of the session, finished fifth as BVM Racing’s leading driver. De la Torre followed in sixth.
Although Drivex had topped FP2, Fiorentino and Trappa could not repeat that pace in Qualifying. Fiorentino placed ninth, while Trappa finished 10th. Meanwhile, Ferrazzano’s set-up struggles continued as he ended the session 14th.

2026 Euroformula Open: Round 2: Spa-Francorchamps: Race 1
Yeh converted pole into his third victory of the season in Race 1. He launched cleanly, retained the lead and controlled the pace at the front, while the fight behind him intensified.
Carrasquedo initially held second from the front row. However, Herrera made an excellent start and moved into third on the Kemmel Straight. Behind them, Stack, Koller and de la Torre formed the chasing group, while Feldmann stalled on the grid.
As the race developed, Herrera struggled to hold third. De la Torre, Stack and Koller all found a way past, while another battle formed further back between Fiorentino, Trappa and Famularo.
Then, on lap seven, Koller went into the gravel at the chicane, which triggered a safety car. That intervention compressed the field and set up a dramatic final phase.
In the closing laps, the battle for second became decisive. Contact between Carrasquedo and Stack left the Mexican with a puncture, allowing de la Torre and Herrera to move through. Yeh still crossed the line first, while de la Torre finished second and Herrera completed the podium.
De la Torre also claimed the fastest lap with a 2:10.365 on lap two. Carrasquedo eventually finished 13th, while Koller failed to meet the classification requirement after completing seven laps.

2026 Euroformula Open: Round 2: Spa-Francorchamps: Race 2
Race 2 produced one of the most entertaining contests of the season. On a drying track, the reversed-grid race created immediate drama, close battles and strategic uncertainty.
Lorenzo Castillo started from pole, ahead of Famularo and the Drivex pair of Fiorentino and Trappa. However, Famularo stalled at the start, while Castillo jumped the start and later received a five-second penalty.
Trappa moved into the lead at Les Combes, but Yeh surged from eighth to third by the end of the opening lap. Then, on lap two, he seized the lead and began to pull clear.
Behind him, chaos unfolded. Stack climbed to second but had to serve a drive-through penalty for an incorrect grid intervention. Elsewhere, contacts between de la Torre and Carrasquedo, as well as Koller and Fiorentino, disrupted the order. Feldmann also stopped with a smoking engine, while de la Torre, Koller and Dobrzański gambled on slick tyres.
By mid-race, Yeh had built a strong lead over Herrera, Carrasquedo, Nandan, Trappa, Stack and Castillo. The duels continued, and a later clash between Stack and Trappa at Les Combes cost both drivers. That opened the door for Ferrazzano, who drove consistently to finish fifth in front of his home crowd.
At the front, Yeh won by 16.813s from Herrera, while Carrasquedo recovered to third. Nandan finished fourth, and Ferrazzano completed the top five. De la Torre set the fastest lap with a 2:18.208 on lap 12.

2026 Euroformula Open: Round 2: Spa-Francorchamps: Race 3
Finally, Race 3 delivered another chaotic contest in changing weather conditions. Rain forced the race to start behind the safety car, with Wiktor Dobrzański on pole ahead of Feldmann, de la Torre and Herrera.
Immediately, several drivers pitted for slick tyres, including Yeh, Famularo, Dobrzański, Feldmann, de la Torre, Stack and Fiorentino. That strategic split completely reshaped the race.
Herrera led on lap two from Koller, Carrasquedo, Nandan, Trappa, Castillo and Ferrazzano. However, the drivers on slick tyres quickly carved through the order. Yeh had already moved into the lead by lap three before serving a drive-through penalty for a safety car infringement.
Even so, he rebuilt his advantage as the race stabilised. By lap nine, once the order had settled, Yeh held a 25-second lead over Famularo and Stack. Stack won that duel for second, while Trappa moved past Famularo and secured third overall, also taking rookie honours.
Yeh crossed the line 26.436s ahead of Stack to complete his Spa hat-trick. Trappa finished third and set the fastest lap with a 2:12.798 on lap 11.

Yeh strengthens title control at Spa
In conclusion, Yeh delivered the defining performance of the 2026 Euroformula Open season so far. Across changing weather, mixed track conditions and chaotic race situations, he consistently found a way to win.
Moreover, his Spa hat-trick has given him a commanding championship advantage, while Team Motopark continues to control the Teams’ standings. However, de la Torre, Famularo, Stack and Herrera all remain firmly involved in the fight behind him, and Drivex’s impressive return has added another competitive force to the grid.
Therefore, while Yeh now holds a clear lead, the battle for momentum remains open as the championship heads towards the next round at Misano.
