Chaz Mostert secured his first victory of the season in Race 14 of the 2026 Supercars Championship in Tasmania.
After losing his pole early, Mostert was able to reclaim and build his lead to the field. Behind him, David Reynolds and Brodie Kostecki claimed podium places in a tightly contested final laps.
Mostert’s Toyota on Race 14 Pole
Toyota continued its impressive start to life in the 2026 Repco Supercars Championship as Chaz Mostert and Andre Heimgartner shared the pole positions in a chaotic qualifying morning at Symmons Plains for Race 14 and Race 15.
Changeable and greasy conditions caught out several drivers across both sessions, with Mostert delivering a standout lap in Qualifying to secure his first pole of the season for Walkinshaw TWG Racing. The Toyota driver edged out Anton De Pasquale and Brodie Kostecki, who later came under investigation following an impeding incident involving Jackson Walls during the session.
Mostert’s pole marked Toyota’s third pole position of the season and continued the manufacturer’s strong recent form after showing promising pace throughout practice on Friday. Championship contenders Matt Payne, Kai Allen and Will Brown both missed the top 10 positions for Race 14, leaving themselves work to do heading into the rest of Saturday’s racing.

Lights Out in Tasmania
It was Anton De Pasquale and David Reynolds who jumped past Mostert and Heimgartner for first and third in a clean first lap. However, at the start of Race 3, contact from Mostert and Reynolds drops De Pasquale down to fifth.
Kostecki continues to climb, now up to third, while Kai Allen made up a crucial place after qualifying 22nd. However, laps later Allen picked up a fifteen second time penalty. A mistake on track sent Aaron Cameron tumbling to the back of the field, while his teammate James Golding continued to climb.
By Lap 14, the gap between Mostert and Reynolds started to grow, up to over half a second. Both Triple Eight cars continued to climb up the field, with Broc Feeney and Will Brown chasing for fifth and ninth respectively.

Pit Lane Chaos
With the Pitlane now open, it was De Pasquale who pulled the tigger on the pit stops. On track, it was a drag race between Kostecki and Reynolds, with Kostecki claiming second as Reynolds dived into the pits. Golding continued to charge up the feild, claiming ninth off Thomas Randle.
On Lap 23, Mostert pit from the lead, managing to keep his lead from Reynolds. Heimgartner jumped Kostecki in the pit lane, with a quick pit stop from Brad Jones Racing jumping him into third overall. A late pit stop from Feeney allowed him to move into fifth, claiming four fresh tyres in the process.
With only 17 laps left in the race, Matt Payne was holding off from pitting. However, on Lap 34, the Christchurch winner was called in for two fresh rear tyres. Starting nineteenth, Payne surged past Waters for tenth. Another mover, Kostecki made the most of a slow back runner, diving past a held up Heimgartner. One lap later, Heimgartner was passed again, this time by Feeney.
Sprint to the Flag
With less than ten laps to go, there was four tenths separating second and fifth. Feeney attempted to pass Kostecki for the final podium place, however was quickly shut down. With Mostert over five seconds ahead, Feeney attempted once again. In less than one lap, Reynolds was able to pull over a second ahead of the chasing pack.
With the Sprint Cup and an automatic Finals series entry in contention, every place was important for Feeney and Kostecki. As the laps ticked down, Mostert and Reynolds were both on track for another podium, however the battle for third was in full swing. With three laps to go, Feeney’s fresher tyres starting to fade, Kostecki was able to build half a second gap.
With the checkered flag waving, it was Mostert who claimed his first victory for Toyota. After a difficult Christchurch weekend, Reynolds was back on the Podium for Team 18. Kostecki was able to hold onto third, securing another Podium in his Championship campaign. Race 14 marks the first podium of the season with Toyota, Chevrolet and Ford. With only 22 points separating Kostecki and Feeney after Race 14, the rest of the weekend is shaping up to be crucial.
Further back, Heimgartner had to settle for fourth. While De Pasquale held off Cameron Hill for sixth. Payne secured eight ahead of Brown, with a post race investigation looming for Car #888. Jayden Ojeda rounds out the top ten, holding off fellow rookie Zach Bates.
