Luke Hilton became the second recipient of the 2026 Omologato One to Watch Award after producing his strongest GB4 weekend to date at Donington Park.

The Nitrous Competitions ADM Racing driver accumulated 64 points across the opening two races, securing the award ahead of Douglas Motorsport’s Dayton Coulthard.

Hilton’s total came from his maiden GB4 victory in Race 1 and a second-place finish in Race 2. The results also ended Fred Green’s run of two consecutive Omologato awards at the beginning of the season.

Hilton converts pole into first GB4 victory

Hilton began the weekend’s opening contest from pole following the publication of an amended qualifying classification.

The British driver made a clean start and led Franciszek Cegielski into Redgate before establishing an advantage of more than one second during the opening lap.

A Safety Car interruption subsequently erased that margin, placing the Fortec Motorsports rookie and Coulthard directly behind Hilton for the restart.

However, Hilton remained composed when racing resumed. He retained the lead into Redgate and gradually rebuilt his advantage while Cegielski defended second from Coulthard.

Cegielski closed during the final laps but could not move sufficiently close to attempt a pass. Hilton crossed the line 0.528s ahead to claim his maiden GB4 victory and deliver Nitrous Competitions ADM Racing’s first win in the championship.

Second place completes award-winning points total

Hilton continued his productive weekend by progressing from eighth on the Race 2 grid.

Coulthard moved ahead of polesitter Demitri Nolan before Redgate and controlled the contest despite two Safety Car periods. Hilton, meanwhile, avoided the incidents behind and moved through the order.

The Race 1 winner rose to third before rear-wing damage forced Nolan into the pits, promoting Hilton into second.

Although he could not close sufficiently to challenge Coulthard for the victory, Hilton finished 1.414s behind the Douglas Motorsport driver and recorded the fastest lap of the race.

His victory and runner-up result produced a combined score of 64 points across the two award-counting contests.

Coulthard provides closest challenge

Coulthard emerged as Hilton’s nearest rival for the Donington Park award after also standing on the podium in both of the opening races. The Douglas Motorsport driver finished third behind Hilton and Cegielski in Race 1 before taking control of Race 2 at the start.

Coulthard passed Nolan on the run towards Redgate and retained the lead through both restarts to claim his second victory of the 2026 season.

However, Hilton’s combination of a win and second place left the Nitrous Competitions ADM Racing driver with the weekend’s highest score across the opening two contests.

Green’s run of awards comes to an end

Green had claimed the Omologato One to Watch Award at each of the opening two rounds. The Elite Motorsport driver scored 70 points across the first two races at Silverstone before adding another 64 at Oulton Park.

His winning sequence ended at Donington following a challenging weekend. Green recovered from 18th to finish 10th in Race 1 but retired during the opening lap of Race 2. Hilton therefore joined Green as one of two drivers to receive an Omologato prize watch during the opening three rounds of the campaign.
