Rodin Motorsport’s Martin Molnar and VRD Racing’s Nikita Bedrin shared pole positions as GB3 Qualifying at the Hungaroring produced two standout performances on Saturday morning.
Molnar delivered a memorable home pole in Qualifying 1, setting a 1m35.605s to secure the Race 1 top spot by just 0.076s. Bedrin then responded in Qualifying 2 with a 1m34.601s, the quickest GB3 lap of the weekend, to take pole for Race 2 by 0.209s.
2026 GB3: Hungaroring: Qualifying 1: Molnar delivers home pole
Molnar entered Qualifying as one of the key contenders after running third quickest on both Thursday and Friday. However, when the Race 1 grid-setting session reached its decisive phase, the Budapest resident produced the lap he needed at his local circuit.
The Rodin Motorsport driver posted a 1m35.605s to move to the top of the timesheets, beating Hitech’s Deagen Fairclough by 0.076s. Fairclough had set the pace across much of testing and practice, but he could not quite overhaul Molnar when it mattered.
Bedrin placed third for VRD Racing, just 0.031s behind Fairclough. Although the championship leader missed out on the front row, he still secured a strong Race 1 starting position.
Behind the lead trio, Xcel Motorsport’s Lucas Fluxa delivered one of his best Qualifying performances of the season in fourth. Elite Motorsport’s Flynn Jackes followed in fifth, only 0.072s further back.
Rowan Campbell-Pilling completed a strong opening session for Xcel Motorsport in sixth, finishing just 0.001s behind Jackes. Rodin Motorsport’s Abbi Pulling took seventh, ahead of Hillspeed’s Peter Bouzinelos, who continued his strong Hungaroring weekend with eighth.
Rodin Motorsport’s Maxim Rehm had a more difficult first session and could only manage ninth, while Elite Motorsport’s Kyuho Lee completed the top 10. The leading 10 drivers were covered by less than a second.
Race 1 is scheduled to begin at 13:30 CEST on Saturday.

2026 GB3: Hungaroring: Qualifying 2: Bedrin responds with record-breaking pole
After missing out on the top two in Qualifying 1, Bedrin responded emphatically in the second session.
Fairclough initially lowered the benchmark from the opening session, becoming the first driver of the morning to break into the 1m34s with a 1m34.901s. However, Bedrin soon produced the lap of the session and put clear distance between himself and the rest of the field.
The VRD Racing driver set a 1m34.601s to move 0.300s clear at the time. Fairclough later improved to a 1m34.810s, but he still ended the session 0.209s adrift and had to settle for second once again.
Molnar continued his excellent morning by taking third with a 1m34.918s. As a result, the local driver will start inside the top three for both of the weekend’s first two races.
Pulling improved to fourth in Qualifying 2, while Rehm recovered from his ninth place in the opening session to take fifth. Fluxa again showed strong pace in sixth, finishing just 0.003s ahead of Lee.
Bouzinelos placed eighth for Hillspeed, while Campbell-Pilling and Hitech newcomer Jacob Micallef completed the top 10.
Race 2 is scheduled to begin at 11:10 CEST on Sunday.
