Race 2 at Mid-Ohio in the 2026 Indy NXT season has been completed, view the full results here.

Having dominated in qualifying, Enzo Fittipaldi started on pole again. This time, however, he had Alessandro de Tullio alongside him on the front row. Beeton, Kucharczyk and Johnson rounded out the top 5.

At the start, the top 3 remained in position. Critically for the #21, he jumped the Pole. Kucharczyk had a look at Beeton into turn 4 but backed out of it, allowing Johnson to sweep around the outside and claim the spot out of turn 5.

A battle for the lead

On lap 2, de Tullio looked to the outside down at turn 4 against Fittipaldi. As he never fully got wheel-to-wheel with the front of tyres of the #67, the Brazilian owned the corner and he found himself heading for the grass, dropping to P8. Behind them, JM Correa had passed de Alba, Garcia and took advantage of the #14’s mistake to go into 6th.

In a separate incident, Jordan Missig also found the grass at the same corner.

On the next lap, de Tullio made a brilliant move into the hairpin on turn 2 against Garcia, before doing it again vs Pierson a tour later.

The charge of JM Correa continued as he used P2P to clear Kucharczyk with a lovely move around the outside into turn 4.

Halfway through, Fittipaldi led Beeton, Johnson, Correa, Kucharczyk, de Tullio, Pierson, Garcia, Hughes and Taylor. From P23, Myles Rowe had worked his way up to 16th.

A lock-up and a trip through the grass and gravel saw de Alba drop to P12 behind Murray.

With eight 8 laps to go away from the cameras, Josh Pierson cleared de Tullio for 6th, followed through quickly by Garcia.

In 11th, Seb Murray dropped off in the closing stages and fell to 15th as he got swallowed up in turns 2 and 4.

Out front, Enzo Fittipaldi destroyed the field to make it 2/2 on the weekend in the Indy NXT Race 2 at Mid-Ohio, winning by 12.7s from HMD teammate Jack Beeton. Nikita Johnson was 3rd. Correa, Kucharczyk, Pierson, Garcia, de Tullio, Taylor and Hughes completed the top 10.

The crushing win for the #67 has put him 17 points clear at the top of the championship from Kucharczyk, with Johnson a further three away.
