The FIA has confirmed the teams that will contest the 2026 FIA Formula Regional World Cup and FIA Formula 4 (F4) World Cup during the 73rd Macau Grand Prix.
Thirteen teams will each operate two Tatuus T 326 Formula Regional Gen2 cars, creating a 26-car grid for the third Formula Regional World Cup. Meanwhile, 12 teams will enter two cars apiece in the second F4 World Cup, which will expand from 20 to 24 cars.
The event will run from 19–22 November on Macau’s 6.120-kilometre Guia Circuit. Both categories will also introduce new machinery to the street circuit, with the Formula Regional Gen2 car and Tatuus F4-T421 set to make their Macau debuts.
Pirro praises quality of selected teams
The FIA worked alongside the Macau Grand Prix Organising Committee and the Automobile General Association Macao-China to select the participating teams.
The selection process assessed sporting merit, international representation and operational standards. Officials then chose 13 Formula Regional teams and 12 Formula 4 teams in line with the maximum grid capacities for both competitions.
FIA Single-Seater Commission President Emanuele Pirro believes the confirmed line-ups will raise expectations ahead of the November event.
“Thanks to the work of the FIA Single-Seater Department and the Macau Grand Prix Organising Committee during an exhaustive selection process, the FIA FR World Cup and FIA F4 World Cup will both feature highly competitive grids formed by leading teams from across the globe. These teams not only continue to achieve considerable success at national and international level, they also operate to extremely high standards and reflect strong sporting values. We are still more than four months from the 73rd Macau Grand Prix week, but the expectations have been raised considerably with the confirmation of the competing teams.”
Formula Regional World Cup attracts established winners
The FIA Formula Regional World Cup will headline the Macau weekend and also count as the 73rd running of the Macau Grand Prix.
Pinnacle Motorsport returns after securing first and second place in the 2025 event. Meanwhile, R-ace GP earned its invitation through its position at the front of the FIA Formula Regional European Championship.
TOM’S Racing will also join the grid after winning the 2025 Formula Regional Japanese Championship. In addition, Theodore Racing will represent Macau’s long-standing motorsport history and its connection to the Grand Prix.
ART Grand Prix, PREMA Racing, Trident and Van Amersfoort Racing add further international single-seater experience to the field.
However, the third edition will also welcome several newcomers. CL Motorsport, G4 Racing, MP Motorsport, Rodin Motorsport and RPM will contest the Formula Regional World Cup for the first time.

Formula Regional Gen2 car prepares for Macau debut
The 2026 meeting will mark the first Macau appearance for the Tatuus T 326 FIA Formula Regional Gen2 car.
The new-generation machinery will face a demanding introduction on the Guia Circuit, which combines long straights with narrow corners, elevation changes and a technical mountain section.
Teams will need to find a balance between straight-line performance and stability through the circuit’s slower sections. Furthermore, the limited run-off areas will place additional importance on precision and car control.
The FIA has capped the field at 26 cars to maintain a high level of competition while addressing the sporting and safety demands of the street circuit.
F4 World Cup introduces multi-team entry model
The second FIA Formula 4 World Cup will adopt a significantly different format from its inaugural edition.
A central organisation operated every car under an arrive-and-drive system during the first event. In contrast, individual teams will prepare and operate their own entries in 2026.
The new model will allow teams to apply their own engineering approaches, preparation methods and operational structures throughout the weekend.
The FIA and AAMC based their selection on the final standings from FIA-certified Formula 4 championships in 2025. Through that process, they aimed to bring leading teams from established national and regional championships to Macau.
Theodore Racing also earned a place to ensure that the grid reflects the local history and international heritage of motorsport in Macau.

International F4 champions bring varied experience
The F4 World Cup grid will bring together teams from Europe, Asia and Oceania.
Argenti Motorsport, Hitech and Rodin Motorsport have established records in British Formula 4. Meanwhile, Campos Racing, MP Motorsport, PREMA Racing, R-ace GP and US Racing have competed across several leading European F4 championships.
Asia Racing Team RFN and Theodore Racing will provide representation from Macau. Evans GP will represent Malaysia, while HYDRANGEA Kageyama Racing will bring experience from Japanese competition.
The multi-team structure will also create a broader technical contest. Although every entrant will use the same base car and Pirelli tyres, each squad will manage its own set-up, engineering and race execution.
Tatuus F4-T421 set for first Guia Circuit race
The F4 World Cup will use the Tatuus F4-T421 as its base car for the first time.
The car already competes in several FIA-certified Formula 4 championships. However, it has not previously raced on the Guia Circuit.
Therefore, the teams and drivers will need to adapt familiar machinery to an unfamiliar and unforgiving environment.
Macau’s combination of high speeds, close barriers and limited overtaking opportunities often places a premium on qualifying. At the same time, the long run towards Lisboa Bend can create significant opportunities during the opening lap and race restarts.
Macau continues role as international proving ground
The Macau Grand Prix has built a reputation as one of the most demanding events on the junior single-seater calendar.
Its narrow layout rewards confidence and accuracy, while the barriers punish mistakes throughout the lap. As a result, success at Macau often carries considerable significance for young drivers attempting to progress through the international racing ladder.
The Formula Regional World Cup will provide the weekend’s headline contest, while the expanded F4 World Cup will showcase drivers at an earlier stage of their careers.
Pirelli will supply tyres to both categories.
In total, 25 teams and 50 cars will compete across the two World Cups. The arrival of new machinery and the introduction of the F4 multi-team model will add further significance to the 2026 Macau Grand Prix weekend.
