Round 11 of the 2026 F1 season has been completed at the Hungarian GP, view the full championship standings after the race here.
Lando Norris started on pole position as Mercedes finally got beaten in qualifying in 2026, with Charles Leclerc joining him on the front row.
On the second row, Oscar Piastri and Max Verstappen both gained two spots on the grid as Lewis Hamilton (blocking) and Kimi Antonelli (not slowing sufficiently for a single yellow flag) got penalised three grid spots. The Brit and the Italian dropped to 5th and 7th on the grid, with the other main title contender George Russell splitting them in P6. Isack Hadjar was the slowest of the big eight cars.
On the fifth row, Arvid Lindblad led the midfield fight once more as he beat Nico Hülkenberg to P9 on the grid. Lawson, Gasly, Colapinto and Bortoleto filled positions 11-14 as Racing Bulls, Audi and Alpine were a significant step ahead of Haas.
Fernando Alonso made Q2 on merit as Aston Martin’s upgrades worked well, making massive gains in performance in the corners following a brutal 2026 to date. Williams were second slowest, while Cadillac found themselves at the back this time around.
