The 2026 Hungarian GP brought Round 11 of the 2026 F1 season to a close at the Hungaroring, find the complete race results below.
Lando Norris started the 70-lap Hungarian GP from pole alongside Charles Leclerc, with Oscar Piastri and Max Verstappen on the second row. Lewis Hamilton and Kimi Antonelli dropped to fifth and seventh after receiving three-place grid penalties, while Sergio Pérez started from the pit lane.
Piastri took the lead from Norris into Turn 1, while Verstappen passed both Ferraris to move into third. George Russell dropped to P19 after anti-stalling at the start.
Hamilton triggered the first pit stops on Lap 14 by switching to hard tyres. Verstappen followed but emerged behind the Ferrari before quickly reclaiming the position. Valtteri Bottas retired in the pit lane, briefly causing yellow flags, while Piastri completed his stop and rejoined ahead of Verstappen and Hamilton.
Piastri made his second stop on Lap 34 for another set of hard tyres, handing the lead to Norris. The Briton then pitted and rejoined ahead of his teammate before passing Antonelli for the lead on Lap 46, while the gap to Piastri grew beyond seven seconds.
Sainz received a five-second penalty for causing a collision with Piastri. Pérez later retired with suspension issues before Piastri stopped on track with a gearbox problem with 15 laps remaining, triggering a Virtual Safety Car and several late pit stops. The next 5-second penalty was handed out to Hamilton for speeding into the pit lane.
Norris won the 2026 F1 Hungarian GP, claiming his and McLarens first F1 victory in the 2026 season. Verstappen finished second, followed by Antonelli.
